Apparently everyone is doing that, so let's go with the flow... Thanks to everyone who's nominated me. Even though I think it was just a couple of persons, this nomination means that someone is recognizing and appreciating my efforts and this is very important to me. Lately I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed so this nomination is giving me the strength I need to go on and resist, accepting the challenges we have to face on a daily basis and not giving up. Achieving excellence together means: - Your actions have generated a value that reflects our Dedalus DNA and Core Values which is a source of inspiration for all of us. - Your actions have resulted in an exceptional experience for a colleague, team, client, or member of our community. - You demonstrate excellence in living and role-modelling behaviours aligned to our Dedalus DNA and Core Values.

This day, five years back, at the ISEAL Global Sustainability Symposium at the Hague, we launched Evidensia. It emerged from our collective understanding that we needed to find a place where those who used sustainability systems and market tools could find information about their impacts. Where and how do we even begin to address this problem? After three years of dialogue, research, trials and tests, Evidensia was launched in 2019. Our vision was to create an open access, free and trustworthy public good that served as a repository for credible research on the impacts of market-based tools and a platform to share and learn from such research. Five years on, we are proud that the Platform lives on and is growing in its reach and use to ensure sustainability action is driven by information and evidence. Over this time, we've learnt a lot about what it takes to maintain and grow a platform like this, but why it continues to play an important role in the sustainability space. For all the actions we take, it always comes down to impact and effectiveness - what evidence do we have of the change market-based tools are driving on key sustainability issues. And how do we know where they need to improve. This will continue to be our vision as we look ahead to the next five years. Evidensia would not be possible without the passion, intellect, commitment and efforts of so many individuals and organisations. A huge thank you to everyone who has played a role - small or big - in helping us take off on this journey but also keep us grounded. We deeply appreciate the support from partners at SECO Economic Cooperation and Development Global Environment Facility CGIAR Ford Foundation for helping ensure Evidensia remains a public good. And we look forward to delivering even more value to businesses, policy-makers and practitioners access, use and learn from research and evidence.

We just released our 2023 half-year results – reaching +8.4% like-for-like sales growth, supported by resilient volume/mix and continued pricing, with all categories and geographies contributing. This is thanks to all the strong efforts done by the teams to streamline and simplify our portfolio, reinvest efficiently behind our brands, and unlock efficiency gains. It is great to see these efforts paying off across zones! In Europe we have delivered a solid net sales increase at +6.4% in the first semester driven by waters and Specialized Nutrition. On EDP, we are progressing with the transformation of our portfolio and reinvestments on our brands and we expect volume dynamics to recover sequentially. In China, North Asia and Oceania, we sustained our strong growth momentum with +12.4% sales increase, with positive volume and mix. This is the result of a strong winning-share performance of our SN business but also a positive turnaround of our Mizone brand in China. Finally, in the Rest of the world zone, sales increased by +7.7% notably driven by double digit growth of our Specialized Nutrition business across markets, while we are continuing our EDP portfolio optimization in Africa. If you know anything about me, you know that I love and rely on asking questions in all facets of life. The first company I worked with after leaving university was ?What If! We called it '?!' for short. (?What If! Innovation | Part of Accenture) It was a fantastic name for a company (I think Box of Crayons might just pip it for awesomeness, but I’m biased), and it’s an outstanding start to many questions. Part of what I got good at while working there was brainstorm-y questions to generate possibilities. That proved helpful in being part of the team that invented Loch Dhu for Diageo, a single malt whiskey considered one of the worst single malts ever made. (You’re welcome.) It also proved helpful when I moved into the world of self-growth and learning and questing and growing and evolving, and so on. The principles are the same - and you can use them to get unstuck.
