Name a CEO whose mission is wealth creation for his employees and their families. I’ll wait 😊 At E.L.F. BEAUTY our vision is to create a different kind of company. The realization of that vision is only made possible by a different kind of CEO. And that 🦄 CEO is Tarang Amin. The first time I encountered Tarang at a WWD event in 2017, I could feel it in my soul that he was creating something special that I wanted to be a part of. I was captivated by his humility and drawn to his humanity. That was a catalyst of change for me, one I did not fully realize at the time would change my entire universe just two years later. I joined e.l.f. in 2019, learning firsthand what it means to be on Tarang’s command deck. I’ve come to realize that he built the company of the future in the now, starting from the inside out. His commitment is always people first. He puts rigor and discipline into creating the cultural conditions necessary for people to thrive. Simply put, Tarang powers the people. Our culture and our high-performance teamwork stems from the way Tarang has shaped our company. He believes that every e.l.f. should benefit from our collective success. Tarang had always felt the system of traditional business was upside-down. The so called “Ivory Tower” where people at the bottom work hard to make the people at the top lots of money, needed to be flipped right-side up. So when he became CEO, he focused his energy on creating a passionate team of owners. HOW THE E.L.F DOES HE DO THAT? In much the same way e.l.f. democratized beauty, making the best of beauty accessible to EVERY eye, lip and face, Tarang democratized equity, making meaningful equity accessible to EVERY employee. e.l.f. grants equity to EVERY employee, EVERY year. Since our IPO, e.l.f. has granted over $179 million in equity to our employee base (less than 500 e.l.f.z), excluding our c-suite, on a stock that has delivered 12X. Our stock continues to be one of the best performing stocks on the NYSE, increasing by over 1500% in the last 5 years alone (FY19-FY24). It is not lost on any e.l.f. that Tarang includes a handwritten note with every equity letter. This is in addition to a themed weekly note to all employees and a commitment to personally match donations to the organizations his employees care about ♥️ And of course, he curated a board of directors that is 2/3 women and 1/3 diverse 🖐️🎤 It comes as no surprise to me that Tarang has been honored as one of Barron's Top CEOs 👏 There is no place like e.l.f. because there is no CEO like Tarang Amin 🦄 Congratulations Tarang, it is a privilege to not only work alongside you but also to call you a mentor and a friend. WOW. I'm blown away by this post. First, to have a leadership team advocate for you so fervently is a win in and of itself, but to operationalize that advocacy to hold more businesses to higher standards - incredible. Tarang Amin sounds like one in a million, and based on your post, you do, too. This is exactly the type of leadership the world needs right now. Thanks for sharing - going on an e.l.f. shopping spree now <3
Over a 38 year career that spanned PE/VC, strategy-consulting, and GE (a true "academy company" in its 1990s heyday), I have worked with and observed up-close countless CEOs ... Tarang is probably #1 in that long list in terms of balancing all the essential qualities of great leadership. And, on top of all that, he is a super-decent and fun person to hang out with. I miss those early TPG e.l.f.ing days
Well I, for one, would LOVE to meet this amazing leader! The E.L.F story is proof that being a thoroughly decent human being is the best way to run a company.
Tarang Amin He is a great man indeed. He is open to learning and even accepting constructive criticism. He generally cares. His mind can expand and take in naturally and intuitively new ideas. Tarang is #girlapproved... That said, the barrier to female empowerment has NOTHING do do with men, men named DICK.. that part of your campaign is scientifically flawed. The only thing that will truly liberate and empower girls is to stop comparing themselves to men and own their own minds. blaming men blocks us. OTherwise i love your make up and their are several stellar products..
Elf this this amazing!
Stats don’t lie! But relationships are with people not numbers, wonder who I learnt that from 🤓
I've known Tarang Amin since his days at Procter. At the core, Tarang has always been this way. Despite always being a top notch business person and marketer, his ability to lead with heart and humility will always be the quality I admire most.
More than anything, the ability of a leader to lead with heart and humility is inspiring.
Difficult decisions- Tarang Amin I asked somebody very successful recently and he shared that he always went with massive efforts and trusted his gut. It’s been really beautiful to see E.L.F. BEAUTY rise for teens and become an accessible, affordable and quality product beyond the teen realm too. Speaks to the massive efforts and people on your teams 👏

3wWow Kory! What an incredibly generous tribute. I’m touched and so appreciative. Of course, it is no coincidence that our growth started to accelerate after you joined our team (or as you like to say rocketship). I am grateful for your bold vision, boundless energy, immense talent and building an incredible team. Most of all, I appreciate the partnership with you and the rest of the Exec Team as we all share the same vision, mission and values that puts people first (our e.l.f. team, partners and community). Thank you! Thank you!
