The lives of everyone connected to Israel and Palestine will never be the same since October 7, 2023. With tens of thousands of lives lost, families torn apart, and children traumatized, now more than ever, we need to continue to show up for one another to mourn, remember, and call for an end to the violence and demand a political solution that brings freedom, justice, and safety for all. Israelis and Palestinians need the international community to join together around our shared grief to heal and build hope that another way is not only possible but imperative. This year will be the 19th annual joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day ceremony organized by Combatants for Peace and the Parents Circle-Families Forum. The Ceremony will take place on May 12, 2024. This year, Combatants for Peace and the Parents Circle-Families Forum will center the ceremony around the stories of children whose only crime was being born Palestinian or Israeli. What will be the future of the next generation? How can we bring hope amidst so much tragedy? Register for the event here: https://lnkd.in/gfKHMWcx

One of the MANY fun things that come along with my new gig. 🤩 It is no secret that I have a passion for social media. I love the idea of sharing a message or a vision with a platform of people at the touch of a button. When it comes to a new job, there’s so much learning and adjusting. But there’s also SO much fun, creativity, and exciting new things that come along with it! #Marketing #SocialMedia #NewJob #SocialMediaMarketing

uMkhonto weSizwe (Spear of the Nation) is the name of the ANC military wing. Is it appropriate for a political party to use this name 30 years after the dismantling of #apartheid? What does this mean for South Africa? Is this the rise of a new #war? https://lnkd.in/dW7HnJ6w #southafrica #mk #eyesonsouthafrica

United we stand, divided we fall. Every time we think Blue States versus Red States, the terrorists who did this win. They tried to kill all of us. To make us afraid. We have nothing to fear but fear itself, is as true today as it was in WWII. No one can beat us but ourselves. Honor the memories of the fallen by becoming an informed citizen. Watch and listen to all sides. Think critically for yourself and decide based on what you determine to be true. You have to work at it. Freedom is not free. One hint, follow the money to figure out the real motivations. You might be surprised what you figure out. Being a good citizen takes more than one day a year. #democracymatters
On this day, we remember those we lost. May we keep their memories alive and stand united in our commitment to peace. 🕊

Today, Hawaiians across the globe observe the 131st anniversary of the illegal overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawai‘i. Since that time and amid an ongoing occupation, Hawaiians have fought hard to keep our language, culture, people, and land safe from foreign, colonial, and military powers that seek to exploit our islands for their personal agendas. If you’d like to learn more about the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom, watch this quick 5 minute video. 👇

NOT SHAMEFUL TO REMEMBER Memories of war enable our society to remember the past, to express appreciation to those who sacrificed their lives and willingly served our country. At the same time we also need to acknowledge and accept that on occasions, events and happenings from the past, which would be considered unnecessary today, occurred for significant and highly acceptable reasons. Those of us today should never feel guilt nor shame for these actions, which some are constantly demanding that we do. This is why we, as Australians, come together every ANZAC Day. We do it to commemorate the ANZAC’s and their achievements: we should remember them though, not as old soldiers from a forgotten war, but as the young Australians each of them were in 1915, when they left our shores to defend Australia. Remembering moments from our history allows us as a society to learn from them and to move forward in a positive and determined manner. We cannot change history and nor should we, but we can and should learn from it. Australians young and old, will always remember them.
