Choosing sockets and plugs for shore power can be confusing. For ships with a typical load above ~ 1 MW when moored, there are three types of interfaces defined as per IEC/IEEE 80005-1. These three interfaces apply to five different ship types, as can be seen in the figure. These are defined in IEC/IEEE 80005-1 (utility connections in port part 1: High Voltage Shore Connection (HVSC) systems general requirements). We hope this overview helps you separate some sense from nonsense. Use a tool to figure out what applies to your vessel and learn more here: https://lnkd.in/ekUgVp34 #shorepower #ops #sustainableships #socketsplugs

How do you anticipate the probabilities of failures in your Line Surge Arresters (LSAs)? ⚡️🔍 What methods do you use to efficiently detect faulty LSAs ? If your LSAs are correctly sized, designed, manufactured, tested, and installed (yes, it is possible!), failure cases are very rare and can occur when a lightning strike exceeds the nominal capacity of the LSA. This probability can be computed and anticipated with the help of simulation and analysis of lightning parameters. 🌩️💡 Similarly, for the detection and localization of faults, dedicated solutions coupled with LLS (Lightning Location Systems) networks can make asset management more efficient. 🛠️🌐 Source Photos: Japan, CRIEPI report H07 #SurgeArresters #LightningProtection #ElectricalEngineering #AssetManagement #Innovation

C1 Specialized is family. Family asked me a question. I am just getting into Electric and Wind Energy. My strength or talent is Engineering. In 2005 I asked President Obama to be in Department of Transportation at Secretary of Transportation. I was studying Marine Navigation and Aviation Navigation. I learned minutes and seconds. I knew engineering. I could be any state structure engineer. I would present to the Governor what is appropriate for 115’ Trailers and Superloads. I even attended FMCSA Meeting I was on the Podcast and I answered question from the current Secretary of Transportation. The response was Tariq is to stay in the truck. Well a brother said he can do Wind Energy move I think wind energy job for $33,000.00 I was sleep and God brought me a Mercedes Benz S63 Gray and Peterbilt and I was doing specialized. Well I tell all drivers it is hard to operate heavy equipment at night when you have glass enclosure. You see shadows and it is hazards and you have to pay attention to things out of place. Well driving trucks off the interstates in cities or town that are commercial, industrial or residential it is the same thing when you look 1/2-Mile distance or further. You can’t drive faster than your response. If you can’t see 1/2 mile down the road then you have to slow down because you have hazards that are to close to you to respond faster than movement. In a route plan for permit for heavy haul or specialized is no difference. 99.9% of my route plan will get approved. If it is not approved I need a written letter from Structural Engineering stating my height under underpass will not require bridge lift or Bridge Axles assessment. If so then I will file a lawsuit to the state stating your Government Officials is not guiding me correctly. If you see before I buy a land I do a survey and send to structural engineering stating I can not go this route for my equipment. I do my own survey and I consider a better way. I always contact the Government before buying or traveling in their jurisdictions because I am an engineer. $33,000.00 is for the truck. Not to move the shipment https://lnkd.in/eApD3RQg
$33,000.00 for a specialized vs $33,000.00 for a heavy haul is cheap to move shipment.
