The Godfather of Las Vegas - Executive Recruiting for Casinos/Gaming and High Tech (By Referral Only Please)
The Sphere (Review) – My stepdaughter wanted to see “Postcards from Earth” at The Sphere for her 40th Birthday. I know some of you have seen U2 at The Sphere and loved it. This…is not that. Posted this previously, so this is a repost with updated information. Tickets – Priced at $89 to $279 for a show that should be $49. Once word of mouth gets out on this, Sphere is in real trouble. And they won’t be making their $2.3B back on U2 – the band gets 90% of the Gate. Parking and Access - Your number one challenge. Parking at Sphere is $47.50, but the real problem is access in and out. With the F1 construction it’s managed chaos. For the record, taxis can’t drop off at Sphere, only UBERs. Those sprinting to the Rideshare after the show were hugely disappointed. Very few UBER drivers will pick up at The Sphere because it’s such a sh*it show. Expect to wait 30 to 45 minutes for an UBER. We chose to UBER to Venetian and make the one mile walk over the bridge to The Sphere. Good signage, but the mobile walkways don’t work. What? After the show, most of the crowd headed back to the Venetian, so we opted for a taxi at the Palazzo. Good call. The Show – Web site states “Postcards from Earth” is 90 to 120 minutes. Not true. Show is exactly 45 minutes and the robot in the lobby is another 15. Budget an hour. Lobby is like Disneyland on a Saturday. You can’t get close to the exhibits, and they are just OK. The film itself is visually sensational, however they need to lose the corny woke climate storyline. Almost as bad as “Awakening” at Wynn Las Vegas. Food and Beverage - There are a dozen concession stands and bars. Despite the large crowd, there was literally no one buying $20 beers or $30 mixed drinks. Most Annoying Aspect? - Two of the screen panels were out. So in the midst of those beautiful panoramic shots…you have black holes in the screen. What the hell? Isn't this venue brand new? How is it broken already? Heard plenty of complaining as customers left the show. Godfather Grade – So is it good? Yes. Is it worth $89 for an entry level ticket? Nope! MSG (Owner Madison Square Garden) is going to get a multi-billion-dollar haircut. Godfather Grade: “D” for “Don’t go!”

Weaving Magic with Words, now for a Decade & a half !! Radio & Social Media Personality | Writer | Storyteller | Voice Artist | Talk Show Host | Actor
This is my most recent show reel. To book me as a host for your event, you can always touch base by dropping in an e-mail. My mail id : itsmeayantika@gmail.com I have started understanding and appreciating the power of Live events even more in the last two years of my career. One might differ but according to me, with age and maturity you often become a better host who has more gravitas and is more centred that actually adds a lot of value to any event (though there is an unexplained inclination towards women of younger age and of a very particular body prototype). I will not be wrong if I say that capturing the pulse of a live audience at times is more difficult than making sense inside the four walls of the studio of a radio station. I think as an emcee I get to be a shape shifter, and that's the most amazing part of the job in my humble opinion. With every event I unfold a different side of me and water the soil that prepares itself to tell another story of yet another organisation, some other celebration and another journey. After all every event is a beautiful story and my job is to tell that story in a way that remains etched in the memory of the people seated inside the auditorium that day. But I have to request corporates to understand that the job of an emcee is not to look like a model. So that should not be a deciding factor while you select a host for your event and don't let anyone else lead you into believing the opposite. And I have to request my fellow show hosts, to stop underselling themselves. Remember every time you bypass someone's quote by asking for a relatively lesser remuneration, you are taking the industry ten steps back.

I was told nobody would ever book a magic show for $500. When I was doing a lot of children's shows, I worked with a client at a few different locations Around Massachusetts several times a year. These shows were about $350 each. One year, I realized I needed to make a minimum of $500 per show, so I explained that to them. They laughed and said that nobody would book a show for $500. It's just too much money. I didn't let this get to me, because people were already booking me for $500. But it still made me doubt whether a career as an entertainer would be possible. I couldn't make a career if every gig I got was $350. Truth is, they were right. $500 for a show was way too much money for them. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was that I was focusing on a market that had very small budgets. By shifting my focus to other markets and designing interactive performances to fit their needs, I was able to raise my rates to a level that would allow me to perform full-time, and would comfortably fit within my clients' budgets. When I was performing these children's shows, their budget didn't have to be higher than $350. My only task was to keep the kids entertained for a half hour or so, and that was a pretty fun and easy thing to do. But the needs of corporate clients are different. companies hosting employee events want to show their employees a good time to keep morale high and to keep them at this company. The value that those event planners place on entertainment is much higher than small schools place on children's shows. Additionally, trade shows are an even different market. The trade show clients that I work with don't just want me to entertain potential clients on the showroom floor. They want me to give their sales pitch under the guise of interactive mind reading. More than an entertainer, I'm essentially a sales person getting them leads. Because one sale can be worth tens of thousands of dollars to accompany, the value of an experienced trade show entertainer is much higher than a children's show. So when my client told me no one would ever book a show for $500, she wasn't wrong. At least in the context of her market. The lesson I took away was that one of the most important things you can do is focus on the right market.

I build, train, and lead sales teams with excellence >> Traveling Salesguy turned Sales Leader & Trainer >> Three decades+ and $1 Billion+ in sales 👉 Reach out to build or radically improve your sales team’s performance
I was one of 5 presenters at a show a while ago. All presentations went well, content delivered, and the crowd got what they came for. By agreement, the presenters were not to use their presentations as “advertisements” for their businesses. At the end of the program, every presenter was given 2 minutes to showcase what they did, what services or products they offered. Everyone used their 2 minutes, a few went 5 to 7 minutes, to the distress of the show organizers, as a billboard for their companies and products. When my turn came, I said the following, “Thank you all for attending this event, I hope you found it valuable and are walking away with the content you want. I know with absolute assurance that no one in this room came here today to hear an advertisement about my company or the services that I offer”. “IF anyone would like to discuss what I do and how I may be able to help them, I will stick around after the closing remarks to answer any questions you might have”. Mic down, exit stage left! I was up there for less than 30 seconds. All I did that day was deliver on what people came there to hear (my assigned topic) ….. and offer to be there for those who were curious to hear more. That's IT! Am I nuts not to have used the opportunity to advertise ? You tell me. As they say, the results speak louder than theory. In the end, there was a line to speak to me – none of the other presenters had that. Why? Because I respected the crowd by not using their time on me - And I created intrigue by keeping what I do somewhat under wraps and keeping the focus on delivering what THEY wanted. I delivered the value THEY wanted and did NOT change the focus to ME…even when I had the opportunity (and some might say the right) to do so. And it worked. Moral of the story - Don’t take every advantage of the limelight to sell sell sell your company. Try toning it down and connecting like a person. Make it about THEM! And watch how much more powerful that can be. PS - I walked away from that show with a $3M deal….That closed a few weeks later....
