In my lab, we are committed to inspiring the next generation of scientist. We really enjoyed the opportunity last week to work with Astrid, a bright high school student, who wanted to see what it was like to be a scientist. We showed her how to do experiments, how to collect and present data, and how so much of doing science is about discussion & interaction. The prestigious Humboldt Research Fellowship is here to support postdoctoral and experienced researchers of all nationalities and research areas. Program Highlights: ✅The Humboldt Research Fellowship offers individual support and a diverse sponsorship portfolio for researchers with above-average qualifications. ✅Postdoctoral researchers receive a monthly fellowship amount of €2,670, while experienced researchers receive €3,170. ✅Postdoc fellowships can last from 6 to 24 months, while experienced researchers can receive support for 6 to 18 months, with the possibility of multiple stays within three years. Eligibility: ✅Postdoctoral Researchers: Completed a doctorate or equivalent academic qualification in the last four years, or within six months with a written summary of findings. Must have publications in internationally reviewed academic journals and publishing houses. ✅Experienced Researchers: Completed a doctorate or equivalent academic qualification in the last twelve years, with an extensive list of publications meeting international standards. ✨ Understanding Society Fellowships - applications now open ✨ The Understanding Society #Fellowship Programme enables researchers to take time out to focus on #research projects based on the Study’s data. Funding is available for 12-month Fellowships to undertake a project based on Understanding Society data, with additional resource for follow up dissemination and impact generation activities. Practical support will also be available from the Study team, for example, to advise on data and analysis plans and communication and impact strategies. The August 2024 (for a January 2025 start) call focuses on three themes: exploiting the Study’s #social and #biomedical data; research on #ethnicity and #immigration; and #methodological issues around whole-household participation.
