Candidates are ONLY notified via email (after working hours) that they must take the test one week after submitting their application. There was NO call or other communication from the HR system to inform candidates about the recruitment process and the number of steps involved. This is how HR EVALUATEDS candidates' attitudes and abilities based on their REACTION to this TREATMENT? Or is it a means for HR to SAVE time in moving the right folks to the next step? Anyone who fails to do so, or merely misses an email, will be disqualified? While it is true that "DEMAND" is currently higher than "SUPPLY", is this truly an effective approach to recruiting talent for the Head of Level position?

HR Managers and Hiring Managers, do you ever ask your recruiters how they justify their costs to you? Costs are fine but what are the benefits of using your particular recruiter? Questions you should be asking: • What is your retention rate? (basically how good are they - are people still in post after 1 year and what percentage) • Rebate - if their costs are higher than average - what is their rebate scale, is it extended? • Exclusivity - if they ask for it, ask them to justify it. Remember there is difference to costs and benefits. Are you getting the most from your recruitment partners and do they offer you any benefits to working with them?
