Just finished the course “How to Design and Deliver Training Programs ” by Jeff Toister! 🔍 Here's a deeper dive into what I've learned: Identifying Employee Training Needs: Explored the Training Issue Assessment framework to discern whether training is the appropriate solution for performance gaps, considering factors like knowledge, skill, and ability (KSA). Real-life scenarios illuminated the importance of targeted interventions. Handling Training Requests: Adopted a systematic approach, akin to the Five-Question Framework, to understand project importance, identify goals, and assess influencing factors before determining training needs. This approach ensures strategic alignment and maximizes training impact. Creating Individual Development Plans: Leveraged insights from assessing employee needs to craft tailored development plans. By considering factors like existing skills, desired goals, and available resources, these plans promote personalized growth and career advancement. Developing Learning Objectives: Embraced the A-B-C-D Model to craft learning objectives that are Audience-specific, Behavior-focused, Condition-oriented, and Degree-measurable. These objectives serve as guiding beacons, ensuring training programs align with desired outcomes. Preparing Employees for Training: Utilized the workshop planner methodology to meticulously prepare participants, supervisors, and trainers for training sessions. By addressing pre-training, during-training, and post-training considerations, we ensure seamless learning experiences. Applying the ADDIE Design Model: Followed the ADDIE framework—Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate—to methodically design and develop training programs. This holistic approach ensures that training initiatives are comprehensive, effective, and continuously improved. Facilitating Discussions and Learning: Employed proven techniques to foster meaningful discussions and active learning. By observing, questioning, encouraging participation, and providing feedback, I've created dynamic learning environments that inspire growth. Managing Breaks Effectively: Employed strategies inspired by Bob Pike's methodology, such as announcing unusual end times, teasing upcoming content, and returning from breaks promptly. These techniques ensure that breaks serve their purpose without disrupting session flow. Delivering Training via Webinar: Adapted training principles for online delivery, embracing interactivity, and maximizing engagement. By leveraging features like one-way audio, interactive polls, and recorded sessions, I've transformed webinars into immersive learning experiences. 💡 Excited to apply these skills in designing impactful training programs and facilitating engaging learning experiences!
