CIPD Festival of Work 2024! Two days fully packed listening to great speakers and visiting a variety of exhibitors. I was definitely ‘curious’ before I went, and 100% left feeling ‘inspired’. Working as a contractor I don’t prioritise my learning journey as much as I should. I end up working long days and being tired at the end of it. I’ve been reflecting, and its important having time for me, creating moments of interest to support my mindset of growth, and give my best to my clients. The event was such an eye opener. There was lots of information to absorb and my brain was having a party with it all! Creativity was flowing, itching to start new pieces of work and inspire those I work with closely. Key points in a nutshell: ✔️Learn from the younger generation and don’t be obsessed with conventionality #alexmahon ✔️EDI must be organic. Don’t let it become a lonely place for the individual #azeemrafiq ✔️You must ‘disrupt yourself’ #dexhuntertorricke to open our minds to what is coming which is AI and how we need to change. ✔️AI – think about bias! Ensure your database is widely representative. Think about where the data is going and have clear strategies. ‘Human in the loop’ – AI can’t work without the human #jamesproctor ✔️Leadership – be understanding, have empathy, seek to learn, be honest and don’t blame! ✔️People with more of a mindset of growth than a mindset of survival are 74% less stressed! #virginatlantic (leadership programme).
