Ocean Action Day at COP28 is a pivotal moment to advance much-needed cooperation between Africa and Europe on ocean governance and the sustainable blue economy. 🔵 Despite the immense potential, this area has not been central in Africa-EU dialogues so far, argue Nancy Karigithu and Pascal Lamy.

🌍 In order to strengthen the regional position and voice of Central Asian countries in the climate change negotiation processes at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference COP28 UAE, a consultative meeting was held at the national pavilion of Uzbekistan in Dubai, UAE, with international observers and negotiation consultants. On the last day of #cop28uae it remains still to be seen if conflict-affected countries, which are the most vulnerable to climate change will get more attention from the global community - and indeed more climate financing, which up until now is extremely low. In this article Justine Chambers and I zoom in on Myanmar, a country both vulnerable to climate change and affected by violent conflict caused by the 2021 military coup, and by decades of authoritarian rule, oppression of minorities and excessive natural resource extraction harming the environment. https://lnkd.in/ejEDzAJR

This collaborative effort urges countries to unite and set common climate targets.     The Pakistan-German Climate and Energy Partnership exemplifies how German Development Cooperation fosters broad-based engagement by involving diverse stakeholders.
