Are Gynaecology waiting lists letting women and those assigned female at birth down? Around 591,000 women and people assigned female at birth in England are currently on a waiting list for gynaecology hospital care! This is not good enough. A recent RCOG article highlighted this concerning figure along with findings from their survey of health care professionals which found; 88% said patients reported worsening symptoms 74% said the complexity of patients’ care and treatment needs increased 70% saw an increase in patients requiring emergency gynaecological care. The buoyancy of water allows for easier movement and positioning, potentially shortening the duration of labour and reducing the need for interventions.
