One of the hallmarks of ICGS is our commitment to research. We don’t just tell you what we think is the case when it comes to the value of a girls’ school education—we do the research, and we cite the data to back it up. That’s why it’s so important for our member schools to be engaged in the thoughtful process of asking girls directly about their experiences and outcomes.    ICGS is pleased to partner with Stanford University's Challenge Success program to elevate student voice and implement research-based, equity-centered strategies that improve student well-being, belonging, and engagement. Through this partnership, ICGS will collect and analyze actionable data around the well-being, engagement, and belonging of students in Grades 6-12. Participating member schools also will have the opportunity to leverage this data to communicate the unique and powerful benefits of girls’ schools in general, as well as the differentiating factors that exist within their own school communities.   Space is still available for schools that would like to undertake the survey period in early 2024. Reflections from a Strategic Sunset: As part of Student Experience Research Network's strategic sunset, our team published several pieces documenting our impact and evolution, as well as our lessons learned. My previous post was about SERN’s evolution and impact (https://lnkd.in/gKtxTH5Z), and insights for how organizations can adapt over time and understand the impact of field-building efforts. Today, I'm sharing a piece on how we made the decision to sunset SERN and used our resources and sunset programming to embed capacity in the field. Our goal was to help seed continued progress toward an education system that consistently and equitably centers student experience. Many people have asked about why and how we sunset SERN so we wanted to share that story. This piece discusses the factors shaping the decision and the guiding principles and strategic priorities underlying our sunset. It also addresses how our team planned and executed the sunset. It may be of interest to those considering how organizations’ bodies of work need to evolve in response to changing contexts and, in some cases, come to a close.
