I’m so loud about my rejected TEDx talks — because they’re part of the process. There are GREAT IDEAS 💡 out there that deserve to be TED talks, and I hate the idea that someone might stop trying to share their idea if they get a few rejections. It’s infuriating when negative thoughts cause unnecessary stress, time delays and drama. Imagine how much time you’d have back in your life if: - you and your partner had been calm and curious, instead triggered and at odds - you didn’t have to put out fires at work, but instead everyone communicated effectively - you weren’t worried or frustrated at your preteen/teenager for unresolved expectations, rather were present to their experience and needs We live in an incredibly fast paced world, and even though we all know being present is our power place, it can be hard to maintain because of all the negative thoughts we have taking up valuable real estate in our head. These reasons and so many more is why I pitched my TEDx talk to 56 locations. 7 locations were interested and 3 extended offers for me to speak. My talk has been live for 4 days and already has over 3.8k views. A while ago I had attended a course facilitated by Jabu Zwane, where he mentioned "Life gets easier when I am able to communicate effectively" This resonated with me and has developed my effective communication skills. Been able to communicate effectively is vital in todays time, reasons being : 1) Develops better interpersonal relationships. 2) Increases engagement. 3) Saves time.
