Please comment if it’s working 😅😅😅 How the Trick Is Done: * Write down the word “rose” on a piece of paper. * Give it to your friend, but tell them not to look at it... yet. * Let them hold on to it so they know there's no cheating going on. * Next, ask them "what's 1+1?" and wait for them to answer. * Ask "what's 2+2?" and wait for them to answer. * Keep going until you get to 8+8. * After they answer, ask them to name a flower. Result: 90% of the time they will think of a rose. They don't realize it, but their answer is already there on the piece of paper you gave them! Some think that this trick works because the counting reminds us of children's books, etc. and roses are the most common flowers we learn about as kids.

Did you know Duck Duck Books come with reading guides that are adaptable to your child’s age? (You can find them on duckduckbooks.com!) Here are the recommendations for “Kitty Learns A New Lesson”: 💛If your child is under 1 year old: ▪️Encourage your child to read by pointing out the adorable illustrations, and reading with a soothing voice. ▪️If you are up for it, try different voices and tones with the dialogues, be dramatic and fun! 💛If your child is 1-2 years old: ▪️Read the simple phrases as they learn to talk. These positive phrases will become part of their vocabulary and will help guide them as they grow. ▪️Point out objects in the book to help them build vocabularies. ▪️Encourage them to act like the characters, and copy the emotions on their faces. 💛If your child is 3-5 years old: ▪️Open the discussion with your child. Ask them on each page: How does Kitty feel right now? Why does Kitty feel this way? Why does Mommy feel this way? What would you do if you are Kitty? All of these prompts help your little reader grow their vocabularies, and their abilities to identify and empathize with the character's emotions. ▪️This is also a great time to relate to situations you've experience in real life with your child, recount a time when there was conflict, and how you two resolved it together. #socialemotionallearning #chinesebooksforkids

The tree is up, most of the baubles are at waist height due to four-year-old height restrictions, but it's all feeling a bit calmer this year. For the last two years, I worked until Christmas Eve because of writing deadlines, and both times I stumbled into Christmas, unsure how it had sprung up on me. This year, way back in January, I blocked off next week in my diary to spend more time in the run-up and determined to get into the Christmas swing. I'm also not currently writing a book for the first time in years and am spending the time reading client's manuscripts and helping them. (Many excellent books are crossing my desk that will find their way to readers' hands next year). I still need to catch up with Christmas prep. Cards are a third written, Christmas food hasn't all been ordered, and I can't seem to get the star on the tree to stay up (I'll be resorting to sellotape soon), but I'm doing my best and enjoying it along the way🎄 #bookcoach #onlinecoach #nonfiction _____________________ 💫 Creating profile-raising books with busy industry experts 🔔 If you'd like to see my writing tips, then press the bell on my page 📚 Send a message to find out how you can work with me 1:1 on your book

The way you see things can never be challenged. If I were to say, “My favorite color is blue.” You can disagree. You can articulate a dozen compelling reasons why yellow should be my favorite color. You can even think I’m a complete idiot for favoring one color over another in the first place. However, despite all of that, you can’t challenge that my favorite color is blue. If I read a book and share what I learned… You could say I should have learned something else. You could say what I learned was not the intent of that book. You can even challenge the validity of what I learned. But you can’t challenge that I did in fact learn that thing. Share your experiences and nobody can tell you that you are wrong.

Don't worry... you can still celebrate Hemingway's birthday. Which was tomorrow. I mean, yesterday. (my tongue got wrapped around my eye teeth, I couldn't see what I was saying!) Have some cake. Or...other stuff. I mean, it was Hemingway. A few facts you might not know about Hemingway:' He survived two planes crashes in one day. Really. Look it up. He dedicated a book to each one of his four wives. (to be nice or... hmmm....) And, he decorated his house with a urinal from his favorite bar: "When his favorite local watering hole underwent renovations, Hemingway claimed one of the urinals, converting it into a fountain in his home." Oh my! (facts about Hemingway shared from Thriftbooks, one of my favorite online bookstores) _____________________________________________________ 📗 Connect here. DM. Ring the 🔔. 📗 Write every day. Eat ice cream from a flat plate not a dish because it's easier to lick a flat plate without getting ice cream on you nose. Unlike most of the other tips posted on here you won't find this one in any elementary textbook so follow me for more tips.
