#BeingHuman "Neurons that fire together wires together. " -Dr Joe Dispenza I often wonder what would have happened to me if I wasn't open-minded and followed the prompts from Spirit to pursue knowledge🤔 and use the knowledge gained to redirect my thoughts and my life🤭. I didn't go to an institution of higher learning. My not so secret weapon has been the gift 🎁 of learning from teachers like Dr Joe Dispenza and Dr Deepak Chopra, who have done the work professionally and personally and made their body of work available through books they've written, and a tremendous amount for free through talks, workshops and courses available on the web. Understanding how our brains work back up and validate spiritual teachings from wisdom literature written long before scientific research entered the picture. This is a solid way to deepen our faith 🙏 and further our own personal growth and development. In a nutshell, neurons that fire together wires together simply mean that repetitive thoughts strengthen their hold on us "wiring" and make it difficult to get new results we desire. The good news is that we can undo this wiring by changing our perspective and thus leading to a new way of thinking. This, however, is not a one and done deal. "Unleashing Hidden Potential: Navigating Challenges with Support" #UnlockingPotential In Adam Grant's book "Hidden Potential," valuable lessons emerge about navigating challenges towards our goals. It emphasizes that hurdles are natural and can lead to internal struggles like doubt and stagnation. Merely relying on personal skills might not suffice. However, with the right support system—mentors, coaches, and peers—resilience can be built. This scaffolding offers diverse perspectives, boosts confidence, and is tailored to individual challenges. During tough times, it becomes crucial, aiding in finding motivation and transforming difficulties into strengths. Ultimately, with adequate support, we unlock our hidden potential, gaining momentum, and turning obstacles into opportunities for growth.

I’m reflecting today on how your strengths can create counterproductive environments for people who do not share your same strengths. My daughter and I share the high achiever gene and inner motivation to strive for more. She has a coach who is very laid back and goes with the flow. He is a great person. She asked him to help hold her accountable as she works to achieve her next goal. His response: ‘Take your time. You can do it whenever you want. No pressure.’ He was trying to be helpful and create an environment for her to excel…but it isn’t the ‘right’ environment for her. She wants and even asked for him to essentially put pressure on her. Through conversations with my daughter, my husband helped her realize that she excels at school because of some pressure that motivates her. She was missing that pressure with this extracurricular and boldly asked her coach to lean in. I share today because we can all reflect on our strengths and pulse check on if we are inadvertently creating counterproductive environments for those that we lead. To be a more effective coach or leader, ask for feedback on how you can be more helpful. Learn to balance your strengths to create space for others. Some of my thoughts today are also inspired by Liz Wiseman and her book Multipliers. The Privilege of Why I Do What I Do: Unearthing Hidden Potential and Igniting Transformation The human spirit's potential is a vast, untapped reservoir. Yet, for many – even those who have achieved great success – limiting beliefs act as invisible shackles. These unconscious narratives subtly manipulate behaviour, hindering individuals from reaching their full potential. Witnessing this unfulfilled potential fuels my passion as a transformational coach. Never let anyone hold the pen as you write your own story. Reflecting deeply on this, I've come to realize that our mindsets are greatly influenced by the environments we grew up in—our parents, schools, and the norms of our country and economy. As we progress in our careers, many of us are challenging these mental constraints and stepping into unconventional paths. Today's young professionals are eager to explore all available resources and opportunities. Despite the inevitable struggles, the outcomes speak for themselves. We are becoming better managers, communicators, self-leaders, and problem solvers. Remember, no one else should be writing your life story. Embrace the journey—thrive, stumble, learn, unlearn, and evolve. You are the author of your narrative, and the story is far from over.
