My son discovered his passion for the arts at Westminster School in Annadale, VA, where my wife taught for several years. Enrolling our children there was one of the best decisions we made. Nasim Abdul Khaaliq's love for performing, sculpting, singing, and playing instruments allowed him to express himself and find his passion. Again, I’m proud to say that he’ll be studying Theatre at George Mason University. Watch a clip of his early performance as the Lion in The Wizard of Oz. More to come! 🎭🎶🎨 #WestminsterSchool #ArtsEducation #PassionDiscovery

4 more chances to witness this one!
Final week, final offer. THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE closes on Sunday at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in a Jobsite Theater production. Folks have been so kind to the work, this is one that is going to be talked about for a while. I appreciate the increasingly rare chances I get to perform, and believe firmly this among some of my best work.

Providing Accountable Therapy for here and now tools and deeper healing experiences to reach your goals for over 40 years
https://lnkd.in/g4yZA_yw "Sing Sing" World premiere was recently featured at this years Tiff film festival. There were a lot of useful messages in this film It highlight the importance of human resilience, strength, recovery and rehabilitation through artistic expression. Writing, acting, singing, sculpting, drawing, painting, playing... The Rehabilitation Through Arts at the Sing Sing Prision reduces recidvism by 64%. That's an incredible statistic!! Also, in one scene in the movie, there was a quote on a blackboard behind an actor's monologue performance; " The beginnings are usually hidden in the endings" How does this quote speak to you? Are you finding the opportunities in your adversities?

On Saturday I took my daughter to see Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House. Shes wanted to go for over a year. She has been to many west end shows no problem. She watches swan lake on youtube every week. She has dance classes 5 days a week. She asks for the swan lake story every night. For a 5 yr old this is some serious prep and dedication. She was extremely, extremely excited. She lasted till the interval. It was quite the disaster, I think everyone in our box hated us 😡. It was too long, too hot, too loud, too quiet, not enough (any) talking… my poor little girl was, thirsty, itchy, frustrated and generally overwhelmed. To be fair to her she held it together till the curtain came down, but once we stepped outside she lost it. Her birthday treat was turning into a birthday disaster! I had to call it and take the extremely upset ballet nut out of there (never to return till she is at least 8!) Here’s the moral of the story. Sometimes, regardless of the amount of preparation, things don’t go as planned, they bomb, they crash and burn, the shit hits the proverbial fan. In those times, the best course of action is to stop🛑, take stock, dry your tears, and come up with a different course of action. Don’t try to repeat the madness. Go get icecream instead. Picture taken before the crying began. __________________________________ Hi 👋 I'm Michelle, I write about things I know about: Marketing, Leadership, Strategy, Coaching and Board Advisory.
