How long should you stay in your PR job? Well, check out my comments in this latest piece from PRWeek UK if you like! Even before I started my career, people and institutions were giving me advice on this particular topic. Many advocate for 1-2 years, gaining diverse experiences and education, others argued the longer you stay the better it looks for future employers. However, in an evolved market focussed on employee satisfaction and as employees continue to prioritise wellbeing this question should be reframed. Instead, advice should be given based on how to evaluate your own position and your company. Staying one year, or five, doesn't matter as long as you're prioritising what's best for you and if you have an employer like With that places an emphasis on progression and team benefits.
