New GPT-4o (Omni) tutoring demo: My new book BRAVE NEW WORDS: HOW AI WILL REVOLUTIONIZE EDUCATION comes out tomorrow. What is described in this book is happening fast... My son and I filmed this last week at OpenAI that gives a glimpse of this happening on Khan Academy's iPad app (we haven't released this level of tutoring yet but it will come...) :) In full disclosure, Imran knows trig. He's just trying to demo how the AI can help a struggling student ;)

Demo is superb showcasing, what AI can achieve in such a short span of time. However if AI gets more and more intelligent and will be able to do almost everything, where is the need for human to study ? AI bots will be able to do all the work for which professional courses are there. What will be need of humans ? AI ecosystem have no need of humans. We are better on MARS/Moon if AI do not need that place 🙂

This article shows the importance of doing large scale AI deployments in schools with a trusted , well-established partner with a track record .And the meltdown happened before considering the really important issues around data privacy/security, quality/accuracy , safety, and sound pedagogy.

We are starting a very special R&D project at Schoolhouse and are looking for an entrepreneurial person to head it up. As divisions grow in the country, we think it's important that the next generation of high schoolers actively engage in dialogue on difficult topics. In partnership with a coalition of universities, we will be building a national & global program in which students are paired with others of the opposing view on topics such as Israel-Palestine, abortion, Biden vs. Trump, affirmative action, and gun control. This won't be easy. We know it's important. This role will be part program management, part product management, part partnerships, part marketing.
