“Perhaps nothing -save our warfighters- is more vital to military success than keeping classified information out of rivals' hands,” writes Jamie Whitney in his compelling recent article, “Trusted Computing for National Defense,” published in Military & Aerospace Electronics. We take a leading role in the development of secure, deployable rugged embedded systems to protect against increasingly sophisticated attacks. A key element of cybersecurity at the edge of the battlefield is establishing a base level of trust and adherence to the Zero Trust Security Model. Our products provide a layer of trust as the foundation for a secure system design, protecting critical data-at-rest and data-in-transit with industry-leading encryption technologies. #YearInReview 8️⃣: Sandia and Purdue University scientists test a cybersecurity technique that shuffles network addresses like a blackjack dealer shuffles cards. It could befuddle hackers gambling for control of a military jet, commercial airliner or spacecraft. “We’re using machine-learning techniques to better defend our systems,” Sandia scientist Eric Vugrin said. “We also know the bad guys are using machine learning to attack the systems. One of the things identified early on was that we do not want to set up a moving target defense where somebody might use a machine-learning attack to break it and render the defense worthless.” Learn more about the successful test👇

Malicious actors, cybersecurity threats, and poor leadership decisions can lead to the weaponization of space systems that utilize laser technologies to abolish national and international stability for arms control by compromising internal technologies that could inevitably lead to damage and destruction of sensitive space systems thwarting cybersecurity protections, thus starting a war. Should war in outer space develop, the enemy’s engagement must be thorough and well-planned. There must be ways to defend against space-based powers. Aerospace cybersecurity will face artificial Intelligence and data defense challenges at both the application and network levels for space systems against attacks from malicious actors, including other governments (Russo & Lax, 2022). There must be a balance between a solid defense and an equally strong offense strategy.
