The deadline is fast approaching to submit your cool, awesome, noteworthy project that may be grandiose or super simple but effective for an International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Excellence in Economic Development Award! I was honored to win one last year for Real Estate Redevelopment and Reuse for the Bell Works Chicagoland Project. It was our first time submitting and well worth it. BONUS: There's a first-timers fee for those who are planning to submit a project for the first time or who haven't submitted in the past 4 years! #IEDCAwards

🌍 Where have all the housebuilders gone? 🏡 Reflecting on my time at #UKREiiF this week with the @AitchisonRaffety team, several key takeaways have stood out: 💡 Hot Topics – Recurring themes included Planning, Politics, Net Zero, Construction Costs, and emerging trends like B Corp certification and AI's role in real estate. 🔍 Planning – The state of the UK planning industry, fraught with uncertainty, high costs, and lengthy timelines, is a significant factor behind the drastic drop in housebuilders from over 12,000 pre-2000 to approximately 2,400 in 2024. 🤝 Networking – #UKREiiF is fast becoming an essential event in the calendar. It’s incredible how many meaningful connections you can make in just 3 days! 🏙️ Leeds – What a fantastic city! The venue along the River Aire offered easy access to the city and was a perfect setting for the event. We are already looking forward to 2025 and are excited to work with our clients and welcome new ones. Drop me or the team a line for further information on how we can help or visit our website. https://lnkd.in/emjNezQW Aitchison Raffety #UKREiiF #RealEstate #Planning #Networking #Leeds #Construction #NetZero #Innovation

I am delighted that our independent report, London Plan Review: Housebuilding in London, was published by Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) yesterday. It's my great pleasure to have worked closely with Chris Katkowski KC, Cllr James Jamieson, and Dr Paul Monaghan in conducting this important review. I appreciate the excellent support from Lichfields UK and officials from DLUHC. London Plan is a key document in creating a shared vision among Londoners and key stakeholders responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the city. To realise this shared vision, it is vital to perceive planning as a positive force — a creative activity that safeguards long-term public interests, promotes and facilitates sustainable growth, and instils certainty and confidence among investors and businesses.
