Joe Dyer's post, below, celebrating the great team at DISHER shows how important appreciation really is. We often talk about recognition, or commending an employee on a job well done, as essential for employee satisfaction, engagement and productivity. However, appreciation is about recognizing the qualities of the person rather than the quality of the job, which is something far more meaningful, and durable. #appreciationday #recognition #companyculture #employeeengagement #productivity #employeesatisfaction
Today is Employee Appreciation Day, and we want to express our sincere gratitude to every member of our team! We greatly value the diverse skill sets and creative energy that each person contributes at DISHER. We take pride in seeing everyone's dedicated efforts not only in serving our customers but also in supporting their coworkers and community.

🌟 Embracing the Culture of Appreciation at Crumbl Pensacola/Gulf Breeze 🌟 Early in my career, I learned the importance of Employee Development, Customer Service, Growth, & Profitability from the amazing team at Enterprise Mobility. I strongly believe that a focus on our team's development and company culture naturally leads to success in the other core areas. One practice we've adopted to nurture our team and culture is our "Crew Shout Outs" shared weekly through Slack. But why does this matter? 1️⃣ It cultivates a culture of appreciation, encouraging our emerging leaders to actively seek and celebrate the positives within our team. Acknowledging the great work happening around us! 2️⃣ These shout outs foster a strong sense of community and collaboration among our entire Crew. Public recognition uplifts individuals, creating an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated. And besides being an incredible way to celebrate achievements, these shout outs also keep me young and hip by keeping up with the latest slang! Here's a recent shout out from one of our Shift Leads about a Baker at Crumbl: 🌟 "I can never say enough good things about Hunter!! She just absolutely slays every shift she works!! I rarely have to tell her what to do because she is always finding a task to complete or is helping another station! She is such an amazing baker, and I love working with her!!" 🌟 I'm curious, how does your business show appreciation for your amazing team? Share your thoughts! 👇 #EmployeeAppreciation #CompanyCulture #TeamRecognition

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Meet Lee, Our Employee of the Quarter! 🌟 Congratulations to Lee, our Employee of the Quarter! We're so proud of how he upholds our company's core values of #integrity, #community, #teamwork, #happiness, #innovative, and #safety. We sat down with Lee to learn more about his role at the company and what these values mean to him: Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role within Southern Ice Cream? A: "By myself, I’m a people person. People notice that. I love to make people smile. My job isn’t hard; it’s just cold. As for my job, I love and respect the people and keep up the good work. We all try to work together [office and drivers]." Q: Congratulations on winning Employee of the Quarter! How does it feel to be recognized for your dedication to our company's core values? A: "It’s very appreciative, trust me, because other people work hard and deserve it. It’s a good feeling, a good thing. I always notice people appreciate it, and it’s good to get that recognition." Q: Safety is paramount in everything we do. How do you ensure that safety protocols are followed in your day-to-day work, and how do you promote a culture of safety among your peers? A: "Safety first comes from being aware of your surroundings. Like you know, forklifts and pallet jacks. And also, coming in and out of the freezer, there's a blind spot, so you want people to know when you’re coming through. I tell people when I’m coming out because I almost ran into Jeff yesterday. You just have to be aware of forklifts and pallet jacks moving." Q: Looking ahead, what are your goals and aspirations within our company, and how do you plan to continue upholding our core values in your work? A: "Well, the goal is to keep an open communication with upper management and my team. That way, we can all be successful at our jobs. With the core values, those are things that come naturally to me. I don’t necessarily have to work on them; they come naturally to me."

Celebrating Our Team: Beyond Just a Day of Appreciation At Green Leaf Construction, we believe in the power of appreciation. Recognizing the hard work, dedication, and passion of our employees shouldn’t be confined to just one day. It’s a practice that we embed into our everyday culture, ensuring our team feels valued and celebrated for their contributions throughout the year. This year, we’re taking our appreciation a step further by dedicating an entire week to celebrate our incredible team. We’re kicking off the week with something sweet and communal - a Waffle Bar on Tuesday! It’s a chance for everyone to come together, enjoy delicious waffles with their favorite toppings, and start the day with smiles and energy. But why stop there? We’re keeping the momentum going with a daily raffle for five consecutive days. Prizes will vary each day, ensuring that the excitement remains high throughout the week. It’s our way of saying thank you, a small gesture to acknowledge the big impact each employee has on our success. Our commitment to employee appreciation is not just about these events. It’s about creating an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported every single day. We’re proud to have built a culture where appreciation is part of our DNA, and we’re excited to continue celebrating our team not just this week, but every week. Thank you to all our employees for everything you do. Here’s to you! #EmployeeAppreciation #ThankYou #TeamCelebration #WorkplaceCulture

Organizational culture is one thing employees do look at and employers must be aware of. How you view your employees and interact with them as well as appreciate them matters more for your reputation. This story is something sad as it puts out the reality of some of these multi national companies that focus solely on money and none on the people helping bring that money in. To me, this story means loyalty and hardwork is only sustainable if one sees their timely benefit which motivates one to give their best at work. Positivity is a great asset to have and it should equally be appreciated.

Do you include Agency Associates and Resident Contractors when you have Company-sponsored events and meetings? Well, yes, yes we do, why would we not want to include them? I was surprised to hear from some other companies recently that they do not extend their events, recognition programs, meetings to their agency associates or even their resident contractors. This creates a divide whether one wants to recognize or admit to it. Treating associates differently causes mistrust and diminishes loyalty and value. At VF Outdoor, EVERY agency associate, EVERY Resident Contractor participates in all of our plant meetings, plant trainings, Birthday Recognition program, New Hire/ New Associate Announcements, productivity recognition, company-sponsored activities, projects and meal events. All associates also participate in all prize give-a-ways as well. VF is an INCLUSIVE company and our associates know if you come here to work for us, you ARE one of us. Our agency partners have always told us "we have a list of people waiting to come work for you". This is our WHY, this is our PURPOSE. I'm curious what your Company does, reach out via messenger or comment below.

What is UP Outdoorsy Bosses! Check out our Company Culture episode 2, as we share ways to incentivize staff and promote internal competition so they naturally aspire to excel amongst their peers. Motivate your employees with goals you set as an owner. Make these available weekly or monthly. Setting up internal competitions provides a fun, game-like atmosphere, celebrate their successes during each company meeting. Pictured is Kevin's landscape contracting business where employees would vote on whom they thought provided the most effort and value for the team and company during that month. Behind them you see a crew competition board where crews race to win the monthly top score. These were scores of their work given by managers whom graded each crew's property jobs each week. Customers whom praised a particular crew or individual we celebrated by creating the 'Complimen-Tree' on left- where crews would place their crew colored leaf onto this tree to populate the most praises each month. The company culture was to have multiple ways in which ALL employees could become engaged and make a difference, winning prizes, time off, etc to feel apart of the company growth. Recognition is key to retaining employees and developing a fun company culture! #employeeengagement #positivereinforcement #employeeexperience #companyculture

Appreciation Day is a special occasion to celebrate the hard work and dedication of employees. It's like a warm ray of sunshine on a cold winter day, illuminating the path ahead and warming our hearts. Just as a flower blooms with care and nourishment, employees blossom when they feel valued and appreciated. Employee appreciation is not just about handing out bonuses or gifts. It's about acknowledging the effort and contribution of each individual, and making them feel like they are part of a family. It's about recognizing the small victories and the challenges overcome, and showing gratitude for the unique skills and talents each employee brings to the table. Appreciation Day is a reminder that every employee is a vital cog in the wheel of success. It's a day to reflect on the journey we've taken together, and to look forward to the brighter future ahead. Let's cherish this day, and make it a regular occurrence, because every day should be a day of appreciation for our dedicated employees.
