Keswick was set ablaze with bouquets of beautiful flowers this week! The flowers were a gift from former volunteers Lauren and Rohan, who donated them from their recent weddings. They chose Keswick because of their wonderful experiences as volunteers, and they wanted to show their gratitude to Keswick residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers. Thanks, Lauren and Rohan! We wish you all the best!

⭐ Can you spare just 30p a month to support your community ⭐ I'm lucky to work with Drawing Board Productions Community Interest Company who produce not for profit positive news publications for communities across South Manchester and Stockport. Each month they provide a free platform for charities, community groups and individuals to advertise their work. How can you take part: Monthly Treasure Hunt: Check your pockets, bags, sofa sides, and car seats for those spare 1ps, 2ps, 5ps, 10ps, and 20ps. Pop 30p into a Jar: Collect your findings each month and contribute to your designated jar. Support at the End: At the year’s end, drop off your 12-months-worth of 30p at their base in Heaton Moor United Church, Heaton Moor or conveniently make the donation online - https://bit.ly/3nEZ60r By accepting this challenge, you’re not only making a small, manageable commitment but also playing a vital role in empowering your local community and organisations. We've been working hard to support young people who have recently moved into new accommodations with little to no furniture. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we've been able to provide them with essential items like Sofa's . Our sofa supply is running low, and we want to make sure young people have a comfortable place to relax and unwind in their new homes. So, we're reaching out to our amazing community once again! If you have a used sofa that you'd be willing to donate, or if you know someone who does, please consider Bardsley Youth Project. Your support will make a huge difference in improving the lives of young individuals who are just starting out on their own. If you think you can help send us a Facebook message. We are legally required to ensure all sofas we give out have their fire labels intact. For each sofa we requested a photo showing the fire labels and the general condition of the sofa before collection. We ask that sofas have no major rips or tears. We understand that this may add an extra step to the donation process, but please know that your efforts are helping us create comfortable homes for those who need it most. Rossi Companies Makes Community Impact with Donation INDIANAPOLIS - Jan. 21, 2024 - PRLog -- Indianapolis, IN 01/20/24 The Rossi Companies Inc. a premier multi service contractor based in Indianapolis made a generous donation of $50,000.00 to the Catholic Charities with the understanding that the proceeds were to be distributed for the less fortunate in both Indianapolis, and Louisville conversely for people that are homeless and needing provisions for shelter and aide during this time of extreme cold weather. We have very close ties to the Catholic Church, and feel it's both our obligation and duty to give back to communities when people are struggling just eat and find shelter, more so when temperatures have been lingering in the single digits, compounded by snowfall. With the many partnerships that we have developed over the years, we felt compelled to set a precedent as a partner that people can relate to, and are proud of as well. In the final analysis, we feel that helping our needing members in the community is both profitable and bottomline... We will continue to monitor our surroundings as the days progress, and lend any further help that may be needed accordingly. rossicompanies.com Contact Corporate Communications Rossi Companies Inc. rossicompanies.com ***@rossicompanies.com End Source : Lisa Capazelli Email : ***@rossicompanies.com Listed Under- Tags : Corporate Giving, Community Help, Community Outreach Industry : Construction, Business, Engineering Location : Indianapolis - Indiana - United States

Hot take Best Lawyers: An award that celebrates lawyers that meet a minimum number of hours spent annually providing probono legal services, mentoring and training junior lawyers, supporting non-profits or charities with fundraising or board commitments, or volunteering in community, and that display a high level of professional excellence. Call it Virtuous Lawyers. Recipients need not pay to play. Our industry is not want for ego boosts, but it is starved for community contribution motivators (and we have so much to give). If we get 1,000 signatures on a petition will you do it?

Last week, my family spent a couple of days up north helping my husband, Don Riedthaler and the Ignite Northwest team, in their company’s test kitchen make and package meals for hungry kids. Between Don and I having worked decades in the restaurant industry, owning a restaurant of our own and having Don (aka Dad) as the primary cook at home, we have an abundance of food surrounding us, especially around the holidays. It felt so good (thanks to the powerful happiness hormone, oxytocin) to spent time in service to others. In the process, I noticed 3 benefits that parallel the neuroscience research in this article written by Brian de Lottinville https://lnkd.in/ggG4wUY3 1. Synergy 2. Cooperation 3. Connectedness More benefits observed: 1. Empathy 2. Laughter and play 3. Conversation 4. Future strategic planning and decision making It’s no wonder companies invest in team building where bonds can be formed. Though, upon reflection, the experience of helping others (for me) trumped some of the more prescriptive team building activities I’ve witnessed or participated in (karaoke bars, and escape rooms come to mind). What has your experience with team building been, and what are the possibilities for designing these opportunities with others in mind? If neuroscience fascinates you too, check out this article by Ritvo who writes about the neurochemical drivers of happiness: Dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin make up the Happiness Trifecta in this article: https://lnkd.in/gqrX5QDA
#hungry #children - Two words that should never go together! Did you know that 1 in 8 children in #washingtonstate face hunger every day. None of those children make the choice to be hungry… Ignite Northwest prides ourselves in doing our part and giving back to our community, and this year we partnered up with Shawn Walton and #StLeosParrish with a commitment of 100 prepared meals…but little did we know that when we asked some of our local business partners like Jeff Winter w/CMA, who donated $500! and Jason Wirth with Bargreen Ellingson who donated a SUV full of to-go packaging and apple juice, we would be pushed to make more than 100 meals. Inspired by Jeff’s donation, I personally matched his gift and we now had $1,000 towards to purchase of food and supplies to make over 300 MEALS!!! A special shout out to the team at Ignite, specifically Ryan Devereaux who donated two days of his time to help make these delicious meals, and my wife Janell Payne and our family who also pitched in to help out! We are now devoted to make this an annual event and next year, stay tuned as our next #goal is 500 meals between #thanksgiving and #christmas #givingback #foodserviceequipment #foodbusiness #hunger #childrenshealth #foodbanks
