Republic Bank works to make major life events like opening a checking account, getting a business loan, or purchasing a home as accessible as possible for everyone. That’s why we were proud to partner with the Esperanza Latino Center to host a Financial Fitness Fair for Hispanic and Latinx communities in the Cincinnati area. Pamela Jara-Sciaraffia, Myrellys Nieves-Quiles, Rick Hocker, and Dana Meyer from our Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Retail and Mortgage divisions volunteered their time to help demystify common problems and myths associated with banking. Kenneth Webb, Sr. Regional CRA Development Officer, led the presentation with the help of a translator. This is the third Financial Fitness Fair we have shared with the Esperanza Latino Center of NKY, and we are thankful for their continued partnership. We were also joined by several service partners including Patti Anderson, Housing Supervisor with Catholic Charities Diocese of Covington; John Hammons, CDBG Home Coordinator, City of Covington; and Alex Navarrete, Realtor with Huff Realty. Master Provisions celebrated last year’s achievements at their Bridges to Blessings event on Feb. 29th. Over 200 guests from the region attended the evening of fellowship and fundraising presented by Verst Logistics and emceed by Liz Bonis of Local 12 News. Held at MegaCorp Pavilion in Newport, the event featured live music from Soul Pocket, ample food stations, and a silent auction. There was much to celebrate about the impact Master Provisions was able to make in 2023. Last year, more than 25,000 volunteer hours enabled Master Provisions to rescue and distribute over 3.7 million pounds of food and saw them hailed as the backbone of the NKY food security system. Over 48,000 pounds of clothing and shoes were packed for distribution and 44 tons of resources were shipped internationally in 2023. Master Provisions also partnered with 14 local high schools to support their special needs students in learning life and job skills.
