"I have no gas. Go! You motherf*ck Jews!"- Gas attendant at Lakewood, #NJ gas station. How does this dangerous, violent, racist person still have a job? The man should be arrested for assault. Refusing to service based on religious beliefs is direct discrimination. Looks like and easy lawsuit. #justice #culture #education #humanity #safety

Interesting.
ENGLAND: MAN ARRESTED AFTER POSTING ON FACEBOOK In the video the officers inform the man that he is charged with “misuse of electronic communication network” under the Communications Act of 2003. This law, enacted in July 2003, aims to regulate the use of electronic communication networks in the UK, including social media. The officers explain that the offensive comments were reported by others, leading to the police intervention. However, the video does not specify the exact content of the comments. According to the Communications Act of 2003, it is an offense to use an electronic communication network to send “grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or threatening” messages. During the arrest, the man asks whether he will be held in custody overnight and if he can take his medication with him. This arrest raises important questions about freedom of expression and online censorship. The Communications Act 2003 has often been criticized in the UK for being too vague and granting authorities excessive power to regulate online speech. Conversely, supporters argue the law is necessary to protect people from online abuse and harassment. What are your thoughts on this law?

Have a heaping hamper this hump day; well, it's got to be Wash Day Wednesday! The realm of clothes cleaning is undergoing a technological revolution. Cryogenic washing, a groundbreaking approach, employs liquid carbon dioxide injected at supersonic speeds to remove dirt without interacting with the garment. This eco-friendly method preserves fabric integrity while achieving exceptional cleanliness. Additionally, advanced washing machines incorporate smart features like dirt level sensors, adaptive washing cycles, and energy-efficient settings, optimizing cleaning performance and resource consumption. These innovations promise to redefine laundry routines, making them more efficient, sustainable, and effective. So rub a dub-dub; it's time to take your clothes for a quick spin. #clothescleaning

There ya have it folks... There is nothing that says, "I'd love to spend the next 6 weeks in traction" like cutting a huge tree limb from a ladder in one cut. Oops! It can’t be done with just one cut. This is where those lacking experience in cutting live limbs from trees get hurt almost every time. Trees are mechanically complex organisms that need to be cut in a certain way to remove pieces of them safely. Cutting off a large section of limb to save time will usually cause the branch to fall before the cut is finished. The cut end will often tear into the branch all the way back to the trunk. This action can cause damage to the tree (and to you) as it swings out of control, usually onto the ladder you are standing on – or the person holding the ladder. Therefore, it is always recommended to remove a large limb in sections. There ya have it folks... Find your rhythm... You know when things are going smoothly at work. You feel it as much as you see it. I call this rhythm. We all go through periods of stability and periods of change at work. There are times when our rhythm is consistent, and then there are times when we’re facing a big disruption and need to recalibrate our rhythm to match our new surroundings. At times like these, putting deliberate energy into establishing a new rhythm is more important than ever. Rhythm at work is music to my fears. Sure, “fears” may be a strong word, but having a rhythm and flow to my days, on my teams, and with my clients reduces my anxiety, and brings out the best in me as a problem solver and a consultant. While music is the creative arrangement of sound, rhythm is the creative arrangement of sound over time. And in the workplace (or home workplace), rhythm is that repeatable, predictable pattern that not only brings about a physical comfort, but an emotional and mental one as well. Rhythm takes a lot of work to achieve, though. And what makes it challenging for many professionals is that rhythm tends to ebb and flow. If I’ve been doing the same thing for a long time, I often want (or need) to make a change. In other cases, outside forces push us to make a change before we’re ready. And when I start something new, it takes a while to build my confidence and be comfortable in that rhythm. There’s this tension between the innate desire or need to change my rhythm and the challenge to find a new one. The good news? If you’re facing a new reality that is throwing your rhythm way off balance—like a new team, new project, new role, new work environment, or new travel pattern—you can find a new rhythm. You just have to create it yourself. You can’t wait for someone else to create it for you. To create your new rhythm, and keep your anxiety at bay, you’ll need three things: clarity, connections, and consistency. Clarity. Part of building rhythm is having a clear direction. To keep from guessing what to do next, seek out feedback and continually check in with your team to understand what’s expected of everyone, who’s playing what role, and what the priorities are. Connections. Strong relationships are the backbone for creating and sustaining rhythm, because they help you weather the ups and downs. Building genuine relationships with your team members, having fun with them, understanding how they like to work, and identifying what’s important to them will keep you from trying to solve everything on your own. Consistency. Especially when getting into a new rhythm, you want to navigate the uncertainty quickly and get things moving. Creating a consistent routine gives you the necessary structure and organization to create your new rhythm. Please follow my friends at Guimont Capital to show appreciation for the incredible generosity to my grandsons cause. https://lnkd.in/e5x5TtNf #management #money #finance #marketing

There ya have it folks They say "we'll worry about crossing that bridge when we get there." Between your current level of safety performance and excellent safety performance there is a gap. If you are going to reach excellence, you must bridge that gap. Before you can bridge it, you must identify the basic elements that create it. W. Edwards Deming said that if you can’t describe what you are doing as a process, you don’t know what you are doing. Organizational leaders are generally good at describing manufacturing, production and delivery of service as a process. They are often less astute in describing human performance as a process. I too often still hear leaders say things like, “If workers would just pay attention,” or “If people would just think before they act,” or “If we could just get rid of these stupid mistakes, we would be better.” Such statements are the catchphrases of those who do not see human performance as a process. In a process, defects have specific causes which must be addressed to solve the problem. Conditional Issues If workstations and workflow are not designed to facilitate the tasks and allow for good ergonomics, this should be addressed first. Physical barriers to performance can seldom be overcome with behavioral approaches. Awkward or dangerous working conditions can and will cause performance problems and must be addressed by improving conditions. Knowledge Sometimes workers do not perform well because they lack the knowledge of what excellence is and/or how it is achieved. Leaders cannot simply ask workers if they know how to do their jobs well because workers don’t know what they don’t know. Job knowledge should be the main curriculum in training, and supervisors should be trained to look for both excellent and substandard performance. Skill A worker can know how to do a job but lack the skill to do it. Some skills can be taught but others require special talents to perform well. If you have a skill deficit that is causing poor performance, you should improve your selection process and explore how you could transfer workers without the skill to do their jobs to other jobs in the organization. Accountability Excellence is seldom achieved without systematic accountability. Too many supervisors and leaders think of accountability as simply correcting or punishing poor performance. True accountability requires coaching skills to set and constantly reinforce standards of performance and expectations of results. Effective accountability involves positive reinforcement for excellent performance as well as correction for mistakes or low-level performance. Culture Leaders sometimes blame their culture when they cannot really determine the cause of their performance issues. The problem with trying to improve a company culture or the safety part of the culture is that culture is a byproduct of other issues.
