Entertainment Lawyer - Serving Production Companies, Artists, Actors, and Influencers 🎥 🎞 📺 (No Unsolicited Material)
Most law students I meet with are unwilling to start as an assistant to build the skills they need to do entertainment business and legal affairs at a high level. Don't be that student. Shadowing a senior business affairs executive as an assistant for 1 year will teach the the verbal lexicon and speed that you need to do this job right... I know A LOT of smart attorneys who want to practice entertainment law. What separates those who go far are those who learn both skill and speed, which you can only learn in the trenches. #starting #jobs #entertainmentlawyer
Lindsay French and I are hiring a new assistant to support the both of us. If you know anyone who would be a good fit and is eager to work hard and join a great team- please let us know! https://lnkd.in/gpm984bQ

In the spirit of ITE Canada ‘Career Connect’ I thought that I would take this posting for a ‘Project Manager, Active Transportation’ with the City of Kitchener and share some ideas that might help get an application noticed. These tips could apply to other jobs where there is a specific area of focus in a posting. First, whether you agree with cover letters or not, this kind of job needs more than a generic cover letter. Someone would need to show interest in a particular job and help demonstrate why they are qualified. If your current job is related but not exact (say construction engineer when this has a planning focus) then you would want to show why this particular job is of interest to you. And for those with no previous AT experience, there are ways to show an interest in related research or a general knowledge of applicable guidance. I would also recommend making use of other organizations such as Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP). What other tips would you share?
Passionate about active transportation in our community? We're hiring for a project manager, active transportation to lead initiatives critical to planning & promoting active transportation in Kitchener. Apply by Feb. 8: https://bit.ly/3O1A0De

Has anyone else noticed the proliferation of overly fancy, amplified job titles on the market lately? What used to be a "janitor" is now a "Surface Technician." A receptionist has morphed into a "Visitor Experience Manager." And regular old salespeople have turned into "Customer Success Architects."I even saw someone listed as a "Thought Leadership Curator." I can only imagine what their business cards must say. Now, I've got nothing against a bit of creative titling. But things seem to have gone too far when a dog walker is a "Canine Transportation Engineer" and a grocery clerk is a "Produce Supply Chain Optimization Specialist."If you’re commenting about a weird instance of a job title don’t forget to go easy, Just don't be surprised if someone from "Human Resources" (or should I say "Employee Lifecycle Administration") asks you to tone it down. Apparently grandiose titles aren't viewed favorably by the "Recruiting Champions" and "Talent Supply Officers" anymore. ;-)
