Seems like only yesterday when we lost him. Thank you all for remembering.
Today I remember and honor my beloved friend David Gilkey, assassinated while working as an NPR photojournalist in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. David was a relentless witness to the depravity of war, while honoring and documenting the lives of those who served and those caught in the crossfire. His friends and those he worked with will remember his wicked sense of humor, his laugh, his kindness and his quiet, steady compassion. David and I started our photojournalism journey together at Oregon State University. I miss him. Please join me in remembering him and those who loved him. And please share this post. "Tiny Desk Concerts Japan can become a place for the full spectrum of Japanese music to shine, not just the top-level stuff. This is actually the function of Tiny Desk Concerts Korea, the first non-American version of Tiny Desk, which offers international gravitas to performers not exclusively from the world of K-pop." https://lnkd.in/eK3vDdCH
