April showers bring another season of Accenture community engagement in Charlotte! Our team recently kicked off pro bono engagements with six non-profit partners in the Charlotte community. Not only am I excited to lead our talented pro bono team working to solve challenges for our amazing partners but I continue to be invigorated by and prideful for the impact Accenture Charlotte continues to drive year-round. A throwback to last year's opportunity to host many of our community partners in the newly minted Accenture Charlotte office for a pro bono wrap-up celebration. Can't wait to do it again! #MakeAGreaterGood

I am beyond honored to have been chosen to be a part of Accenture's Pro Bono team in the Charlotte office where a team of 3 others and I get the opportunity to lead and manage 6 projects working with nonprofit organizations in the city of Charlotte, NC. Pro Bono projects exist because of local leadership's emphasis on driving relationships with Charlotte nonprofits and identifying areas where Accenture can support or partner with them. Once Accenture leadership defines the scope of work Accenture will do, they pass along the day-to-day project to consultants and senior analysts to drive deliverables and interact with the client. Shani Reel and I just concluded our work with our first client, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte (CCDOC) where we led a kickoff with the client, developed the project timeline, and held workshops all for Shani and I to analyze how we can help in the most effective way possible with a short timeline of 8 weeks. Our main work for CCDOC was building User Guides for CCDOC to distribute to refugees moving to Charlotte with the purpose of enabling them to be self-reliant in Charlotte within 30-90 days. Shani and I had the opportunity to not only meet with individuals across the nonprofit, but with the families they serve as well. All of this informed our efforts to provide relevant information on education, transportation, financial literacy, and healthcare. In the end, we made 29 pages of impactful information useful to the families and have enabled language translation options as well. The experienced working with the CCDOC was incredibly impactful and meaningful to everyone involved. Shani and I are SO thrilled to be extended onto 2 more Pro Bono projects together #dynamicduo #powerteam!! It's my favorite time of year: Accenture's Season of Change! This week, on November 16th, I am joining thousands of people as we participate in the SleepOUT movement to fight housing insecurity. On this night, I will leave the comforts of my bed to sleep in solidarity with those who are experiencing homelessness. They say nothing worth doing is easy… I recently wrapped up 9+ months of triathlon training with my first Half Ironman, the Wilmington IM70.3. Lots of room for improvement for the next one (if there is a next one 😊) but I’m proud of the battle through both physical and mental adversity throughout the training and race day grind. I can’t help but be impacted by the overwhelming sense of gratitude and appreciation while being reminded of a few lessons for work and life: - A system of supporters invested in your success is essential to anyone’s accomplishments whether it’s family, friends, mentors, coaches, peer groups, and even strangers that want to see you succeed (thank you race volunteers!) - Demonstrate the humility to ask for help. When leaving your comfort zone, surround yourself with those you can learn from and can mentor you for success (thanks Coach Sarah Hart and the LKN TRI community!) - Having the will to show up and work hard day after day will make the finish line so much sweeter - Enjoy the journey or the outcome isn’t worth it!

Well that was fun. What a blessing for ~40 Accenture Charlotte colleagues and me to have the opportunity to support Habitat for Humanity at the 2023 #CarterWorkProject. Only 3 days in and we were already on roof duty! What an amazing operation and purpose. I can't wait to drive my family by #house15 in the near future to admire the finished product and hopefully see the lucky family who gets to enjoy it.
