Life is filled with imperfections and challenges, but amidst them, there is still beauty to be found. Life's imperfections make it unique and unpredictable, allowing us to experience a range of emotions and learn valuable lessons along the way. It's essential to acknowledge and accept these imperfections, as they are an integral part of the human experience. At the same time, focusing on the beauty that surrounds us, whether it be in nature, relationships, acts of kindness, or personal achievements, can bring joy, gratitude, and a sense of wonder to our lives. 🌟 Another year older, another year wiser, and I couldn't be more grateful for the incredible journey I've embarked on. 🚀 I recently had my birthday on 19. As the sun rose on my birthday, I was reminded of the quote, "The only limits that exist are the ones in your own mind." With this mantra in my heart, I set out to make this year's celebration truly memorable, not only for myself but also for the people and causes that matter most. As the day unfolded, I found myself surrounded by friends, family, and mentors who have played pivotal roles in my journey. We shared stories, laughter, and ideas for the future. It reinforced the notion that success is never a solitary pursuit—it's about the relationships we cultivate and the way we uplift one another. As the sun set on my birthday, I felt an overwhelming sense of excitement for the year ahead. Celebrating 36 today! I'm grateful for the experience, knowledge, and opportunities that come with each passing year. As I reflect on the past, I'm excited about what the future holds. As I turn a year older today, I am grateful for the carapace to be able to stand life’s storms, for setbacks that have made me stronger, and for the unique privilege of being ME. I am grateful for opportunities including open doors and for the opportunity to be able to uplift others and the joy of bringing smiles to faces around me. I am grateful for my past, my future and my present. For a long interesting life full of joy and happiness, may the odds forever be in my favour. Most importantly, I have learned: 1. To be humble, kind and empathetic 2. To do it afraid but do it anyway 3. To make decisions knowing that whatever decisions I make have consequences - good or bad 4. To speak up and stand against every injustice 5. To make mistakes but know it is okay to learn from those mistakes 6. To know my worth and add tax - never settling for less than I deserve in any aspect of my life 7. To prioritise who and what truly matters 8. To wake up and show up every day, regardless of what life throws at me. 9. To always make wise financial decisions and never shy away from appreciation 10. ⁠To understand that life is a marathon, not a sprint, and my only competition is myself I will continue to find value in my light and may the fires of my suffering become the light of my consciousness. #Blackchildyourdreamsarevalid

Be grateful for all the experiences in your life, not just the pleasant ones. Everything painful in your life makes everything enjoyable even more valuable and exciting. It’s all about comparison. There would be no light without dark, no good without evil, and no sweetness without bitterness. Today marks the 20th anniversary of my Sweet Sixteen, and it got me reflecting on my journey since then. Exploring what my 16-year-old self would think of me now has been an interesting exercise. Here are some of my thoughts: - First of all, I think she’d have an absolute blast in my closet. - She’d be proud to know I’ve started my own business after making it all the way to executive level roles in the corporate world. - She wouldn’t know what #traumainformed means, but she’d want to learn. - She’d be so grateful for her amazing husband, stepdaughters, nieces and nephews, and dog children. - She'll be suspicious of Arizona. - She’d be glad to know that Nicholas Lemek SAS-AP, IAAI-FIT, AAC is still her hero. If I could give my 16-year-old self some advice, I’d tell her: - You don’t need to wear heels all the time- take your pants to a tailor. - In twenty years, no one will care about your GPA. - Just because you aren’t immediately good at something doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing. - Stop doubting yourself and your worth. - You don’t stop learning and growing. Making peace with the year is a deeply personal and introspective process for me. It begins with acknowledging the experiences, both good and bad, that have shaped the year, and as a result, shaped me. I like to reflect on what I've learned about myself, the world, and the people around me. I consider the new skills or knowledge I've gained and the moments when I felt truly inspired. Prompts to use when reflecting on 2023: What did I learn about myself? What new skills or knowledge did I gain? When did I feel inspired? When did I feel discouraged? When did I feel scared? What was surprising for me? What was most difficult for me? What sparked joy for me? When did I feel most myself? When did I feel least myself? What am I most grateful for? Who am I appreciative of? Who do I feel resentment or unease with? What do I regret? How did my view of the world evolve? How did my identity evolve? What have you let go of this year? What does my heart desire now?

It doesn't matter what the situation looks like, what matters is what you see. Don't allow yourself to be shaped into the wrong mold. Thinking precedes manifestation. Your life is departmentalized and every area has a self-image. That image dictates how you respond emotionally and physically to every situation in life. Sometimes, we can so be so focused on acquiring material things that we forget the value of life – the biggest moment of all. Life is precious. While you work for a better tomorrow, never forget to be grateful for today. The present moment is given to you for the betterment of your life, use it wisely! #lifeisprecious #thinkwisely

As my parents celebrate their 39th Anniversary, their life together inspires profound respect and admiration. Starting from humble beginnings and embracing the responsibility of the extended family, they have crafted a narrative of remarkable achievements through sheer partnership, determination, and focus.
