What an incredible weekend at the Birmingham Black Business Show created by Dr. Raphael Sofoluke and team! Grateful to Anthony Laville for inviting me on stage to share our property journeys alongside Stephanie Taylor and the fantastic host, Tayo Oguntonade, aka Mr. as seen on TV. The reception from the attendees was outstanding, truly showcasing Birmingham's representation. The event featured amazing speakers and provided an opportunity to not only learn but also support various businesses exhibiting, including TreasureTress for hair products, Black Business Magazine for insightful reads, Viden Property for property advice, and many more. It was a pleasure to reconnect with industry legends like Dr Tru Powell and Justice Williams MBE. #blackbusinessshow #birminghamblackbusinessshow2024

TWO Magazines, ONE Aim... On Saturday I went to the UK Black Business Show, an event created to #inspire & #connect #Black #Business #Owners & #Professionals. 👏🏾 Massive thanks to Raphael Sofoluke, Michael Adeniya and the team for putting on a consistently excellent event! If you weren't there, plan to be there next year 📅 We loved seeing old & new friends and meeting people we'd only seen online. One of the highlights for me was meeting Dr Tru Powell and congratulating him and Justice Williams MBE for creating Black Business Magazine to add to the UK's #media landscape. 📣 Having another #magazine alongside Pitch Black Magazine that highlights and shines a spotlight on the #impact & #influence of #BlackEntrepreneurs & #BlackProfessionals can never be a bad thing. There's more than enough room as there's a plethora of stories to tell... Judy & I never want to be arrogant, thinking that we should be the only custodians & curators of this space. Why? ❌ Because, it's not a zero sum game. As #StephenCovey encourages us in #7HabitsofHighlyEffectivePeople, let's think win-win! ✔ Here's a thought for today, whatever you're doing find ways to encourage each other, #collaborate where appropriate, and grow your market shares while growing the market. ✔This #BlackHistoryMonth, let's start being intentional about collaborating and working #together because if our 'whole pie' grows, we each get a bigger slice of it! 👉🏾 Oh yeah, make sure you check out the stories of the great work that our #entrepreneurs & #professionals are doing. And if you don't get both of our magazines, make sure you get at least one. I'll let you decide which one. 😉 Have an exceptional week! #PitchBlackMagazine #BlackBusinessMagazine #winwin #magazine #blackbritish #blackbusiness #blackenterprise #blackprofessionals #blackowned #buy #buynow #BHM2023 Nicola M. I teach Black women entrepreneurs in service industries how to develop high-ticket and ultra-high-ticket offers, implement high-profile media and marketing methods, and close sales like a BOSS.
Take a lesson from these two. 🤦🏽♀️ I was heading home after taking a walk around my neighborhood the other day and I noticed a guy angrily ripping something off a building ahead of me. As I got closer, I recognized it. It was the branding for the Titanic exhibit that had been at National Harbor for quite a few months now. I’ve literally walked by this exhibit dozens upon dozens of times. But never once did I even have an inkling to go inside. And unfortunately for them, I wasn’t alone. In fact, I never saw anyone going in or out of that space the entire time the exhibit was here. Contrast that with the last major exhibit in the neighborhood—one on Black Hair—and there was always some level of activity all up and through that place. Now, I have no reason to believe that the Titanic exhibit was anything less than top-notch. But they made the cardinal sin of business decisions.😱 They targeted the wrong customers. 🙈 You see, one of the things I love most about my neighborhood is that it’s a haven for upwardly mobile Black people. And last I checked, the Titanic isn’t exactly one of our burning interests. ✅ So even if the quality of the exhibit was on point; ✅ And the financial capabilities of the potential customers are assured; ❌ The fact of the matter is, we were the wrong crowd for this offer. No matter how good it was, this was never going to sell here. Are you making the same mistake? Are you sure that you’re showing up in front of people or organizations that have a pre-existing need, desire, or even base interest in what you have to share, PLUS significant dollars to spend? If the answer is no, no matter how great your offer is, your sales will underperform. I can’t wait to go into this deeply during Session I of the Seven-Figure Comeback Summer Series. Because it’s not enough to blindly show up anywhere you think that your offer can be sold. It’s about showing up… 👉🏽In the right spaces; 👉🏽With the right offer; and 👉🏽Where the right buyers already reside. Want in? Peep the link in the comments.
