Great podcast- good chemistry!!
Question- why is there a reluctance to remove the electoral college system that leads to a binary choice that most Americans dont want anyway??
And secondary to that - why does the vote for candidates not occur all on the same day nation wide? eg P. Buttigieg started strong last time - but didnt progress past several state votes and had to drop out. How can a few east coast states decide what the rest of US must accept?? Hardly democratic!!

I definitely agree with Dr Gabor Mate, when we experience traumatic events our focus can remain on the event itself, and as a result we experience a plethora of negative feelings towards what happened.
Shame, guilt, regret, fear, melancholy etc. All these feelings can follow after such events, and can get worse we lack clarity on how the trauma effected us.
However, if we were to focus on looking inward, and truly grasp how the event hurt, damaged or changed us then we can gain more clarity. Therefore, leading to a swifter healing process to follow.
It’s easier said than done, because everyone is different and some people have experienced truly demoralising traumatic events. But my advice would be this.
Trauma can either be pushed down and hid away in the dark, or pulled out and be exposed in the light.
The dark can feel comfortable because you feel like you’re in control of it, but just like trying to push a balloon into water, the more you push it down the faster and more aggressive it will come back up.
The light can feel scary because you’re opening yourself up to what you’ve experienced, but know that by revealing to yourself and/or to a someone else (a friend or therapist) just what the trauma has done to you, your healing can start it’s course.
I hope this helps.

When one is presented with the truth, there's only two options - to receive it (as it is in truth, the Word of God, as God is Truth), or to reject it (and the rejection of truth is at best only temporary, as the truth will always be manifested in the end). This episode is about the benefits and the value of receiving truth immediately, regardless of what it means for your own opinions. The denial of self, for the acceptance of truth, is what being a Christian is all about.
