Collaboration. Technology. Nature. No disrespect to, Jim, but seriously, is this video from GreenBiz 2013 or 2023? Collaboration = We don't wanna pay for our competitors SCOPE 3 benefits so let's collaborate by getting the public to pay for it and we all claim the benefits. Also let's collaborate on de-risking future regulatory frameworks. Technology = Let’s continue to stall and wait on new technology before we actually implement; however, we do like the remote-sensing AI technology that allows us to measure outcomes of our supply chain without engaging our supply chain. Nature = Sure, we in the agriculture industry realize our business is over 95% dependent on natural capital. And, we also realize from working with all those environmental NGOs - the past 2 decades - that how we maximize natural capital benefits from agriculture - production - has introduced many detrimental trade offs impacting other aspects of natural capital, like climate, water, and other plants and animals. So duh! But mitigating our detrimental impacts on nature is the most expensive thing we can do without significant external reputational, legal and financial pressure. Which one of you has the guts to create this pressure. I didn't think so. Joel Makower
Collaboration, Technology and the rising focus on #Nature – all key takeaways from my time in the Arizona desert at #GreenBiz24. A huge thanks to all the old friends and new connections I got to meet with on the ground to explore these topics. Look forward to continuing the conversations. Watch my 1-minute recap below to find out more.

The link between healthy ecosystems and healthy businesses is clear. That’s why Business Declares brought together a coalition of businesses to get on the streets and join the #restorenaturenow march. Here is the second of our very short clips where business leaders explain why they joined the March…
60K+ people took to the streets of London on Saturday to send a clear message - Restore Nature Now - and Business Declares were there too to show that the business sector also cares deeply about nature and healthy ecosystems and that it’s not the domain only of environmental groups. We marched alongside business leaders and employees to highlight the fundamental link between healthy ecosystems and healthy businesses. We call upon the government to take bolder and more stringent action in terms of money and policy to protect and restore nature now. Hear from those in attendance in the video below, filmed and produced by Connor Newson and a big thank you to the following for their participation: Russ Avery – amplifying purpose-driven brands - Avery & Brown | B Corp™, Hannah Temple - TealCo, Jo Swift - Greenhouse Communications, Roxy Rocks-Engelman - Cafédirect Group, Dominick Pegram - Salt & Pegram, Kelly Moir 🌍🫂, Angela Monaghan - Bates Wells, Lizzie Rivera - Live Frankly, Ben Tolhurst The march may be over but we need to continue to take action and demand change.

Triple Bottom Line Accounting was unable to attend the march in London last weekend but fully supports Business Declares. As business leaders we declare a Climate and Ecological Emergency and call on the next government to direct funding and policy toward mitigating global warming and biodiversity loss with renewed effort. To find out where your candidates stand on the Climate and Nature Bill check out this database: https://lnkd.in/e56_jtJa and on our UK NDCs (commitment to net zero by 2050) here: https://lnkd.in/eYkt6TgN Make climate an election issue before it is too late! Businesses face an existential crisis as well as living organisms! There are the risks of losing our supply chains or finding our premisses cut off by floods or storm damage. There are are also opportunities to make a BIG difference. We are chronicling our business actions on our blog page: https://lnkd.in/eG5zRZpF We will be publishing our fourth annual carbon footprint report and mitigation strategy soon having worked with Trace to produce a more comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions calculation that in previous years. We also encourage those who want to understand how their businesses can help to enrol on one of the Estu Global CMI accredited Carbon Reporting Manager and Sustainable Business Manager Skills for Life Bootcamps courses currently available in Norfolk, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.
