When you’re putting together your first team, there are always questions about what kind of talent pool you’ll have, will they be the right fit for your mission, will they help you grow while you help them grow, will they be worth the time… Start-ups are still creating the systems and processes that make a business run like a well-oiled machine, so there are too many unknowns. And bringing in new people is always a gamble. PJ Bellantoni & I were blown away by the talent applying for our internships as we were interviewing candidates. The experience, the passion, and the diversity in almost every way was incredible. It forced us to move past our idea of hiring one or two interns and hire SIX. Three started this week and another attended our May meet and greet before starting Monday. This group did NOT disappoint!! Seeing Avery Fly, Alexis Hallum, Jalen Mitchell, and Elena Masio come together with PJ, myself, and others in the Jax sports community and fit IN and TOGETHER like we’ve been a team for YEARS was indescribable. Despite having very different experience and backgrounds, we were immediately a TEAM…because what ties us together is the business mission and hearts to serve. Can’t wait to add Kitan Olaleke-Banjo and Kinsley Reliford to this already extraordinary team in the next month!!!
