What a way to kick off Summer 2024! Our mid-year celebration, SpotiFEST, kicked off across the globe this month, celebrating our playlists, our creators, and most importantly, our people. The festivities started in Stockholm, moved through London, and last week we held our biggest event in New York. Busta Rhymes, Icona Pop, Ayra Starr, and En Vogue were just some of the incredible performances we enjoyed. It was truly special to see our bandmates come together with fantastic music, delicious food, and a celebration of all things worth celebrating this year. In Stockholm, for the second year running, we received a sustainability certification for our SpotiFEST event. The sustainable changes made this year not only ensured a successful event but also reduced our local footprint. I’d like to thank the teams involved in making this happen. It is a team effort from many across the company. A huge thank you to the CommX Team: Jessica Deakin (she/her), Karin Julia Waiblinger, Simon Kallin, Alice Cassidy, Michelle Lee, and Tse Lyn. Our incredible Music Booking and ALP teams across the hubs: Brad Nolde, Nandy Mason, Rachel Bisdee, Fumi Amao, Safiya Lambie-Knight, and Joel Ryan Borquaye. Our amazing Business Protection team keeping the band safe: Jaime Wong 黄杰宁, CSMP®, Omar Ahmed, Nathan Kassalow, Tina Kant, and Anas Wihaib. And not to forget our fundamental global sourcing & fin whizz, Tanja Malm and Corie Reddoch #SpotiFEST #Summer2024 #NYC #Stockholm #London #Music #Celebration #Teamwork #Sustainability #LifeAtSpotify

Today is the Chinese festival known as the Mid Autumn festival. On this day, there is the tradition to eat mooncakes (will share a picture in the comment box how it looks like), and the kids play with the lanterns as shown here of my nephew when he was four years old. 🥮 Mooncakes have been around longer than we think. It was used during the Yuan dynasty to hide little pieces of paper notes containing war strategies to the recipients to overthrow the Mongols. Today, organisations operating in Asian countries will gift boxes of mooncakes to their clients, partners and associates as a form of goodwill. 🌝 Doesn't matter which part of the world you are in, look up the sky today and you will see a big, round Moon. Legend has it that there is a lady named Chang Er living in the Moon with her jade rabbit. You can read about their stories in the comment box below. In Singapore, people do not really celebrate it except to enjoy the mooncakes. In Taiwan, it holds more significance and families get together as a sort of reunion. In China, this year it coincides with their National Day on Oct 1, so there are alot of travelling within the country. If you would like to be inclusive in your organisation, here is what you can do (and make note for next years too). 🥮 Buy mooncakes to share with your employees. Have a mini celebration, gather in the pantry area and enjoy hearing the stories of your Chinese colleagues. Stories always bring people closer! 🏮 Solving lantern riddles is a popular activity during the Mid-Autumn Festival. It encourages creativity and critical thinking. In a modern business context, you can incorporate riddle-solving or brain-teaser activities into team-building exercises to stimulate problem-solving skills among employees. 🍈 The pomelo fruit is often consumed during the festival and represents abundance and good luck. In a business context, this can symbolize the importance of setting and achieving financial goals. 🏠 The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for families to come together. In the business world, this can serve as a reminder of the importance of work-life balance. Consider letting the staff knock off earlier today for them to dine with their families! ⭐️ Every Friday, I share parables, stories, quotes etc that we can apply to modern day business context. #NotTheUsualMentor #mentoringprogram #mentoringmatters #culturaldiversity #diversityandinclusion #midautumn #employeeengagement #teambuilding #chinesecustoms

Holi the "Festival of Colors," isn't just about splashing vibrant hues. It's a celebration of new beginnings, embracing diversity, and the triumph of good over evil. 🌈 I vividly recall my childhood Holi celebrations as if they happened yesterday. The air buzzed with excitement, and the sky transformed into a vibrant canvas of colors. Yet amidst the joyous festivities, a profound lesson lingered with me. As a professional, I've often found myself in situations where the path ahead seemed clouded. Holi taught me that sometimes, you need to throw your own splash of color onto the canvas of your career. It's about innovation, creativity, and sometimes, a bit of mess to find your masterpiece. I learned that diversity isn't just about the colors we see, but the unique perspectives we bring to the table. In my industry, we thrive on the blend of ideas, just like the myriad of colors blending on Holi. This festival reminds us that our differences are not just to be tolerated, but celebrated. It's what makes teams dynamic, solutions innovative, and stories worth telling. Let's spread the colors of diversity, innovation, and positivity, just like Holi does. 🎨 Happy Holi everyone! #Holi2024 #DiversityInBusiness #Innovation #Inspiration #MarketResearch

VP, Marketing @ Outside | Leading launch of Outside Festival | Formally Founder/CEO at ROAM/Inkwell Media
These posts keep popping into my feed. Kara Richardson Whitely’s story from Outside Festival is one of so many that make me smile. The Outside Festival ended up attracting 18,000 attendees, surpassing our early projections of 10,000. The event demonstrated how a comprehensive marketing strategy, focused on creating a deep connection with our existing audience, while creating an authentic and safe space for new customers, can earn trust. While Kara’s story is specifically about Backpacker. Other attendees connected with Velo, Pinkbike, Outside magazine, Gaia, Trailforks, Ski, Yoga Journal, Warren Miller or Run. Outside is ALL of these activities and more. So how do you message all these brands at once? Start with the mission to: Get Everyone Outside. And then put your money where your mouth is and create a physical manifestation of all these beloved brands - that actually makes the outdoors more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Below are 3 themes from our big marketing strategy. 1. Brand Identity and Value Proposition The Outside Summit and Festival was designed to celebrate outdoor culture, create an inclusive gathering, and promote sustainability in alignment with our vision to inspire and activate more people to experience the outdoors. This clear and consistent brand messaging, combined with the value proposition of music, film, gear and ideas, resonated and attracted a big first year crowd PLUS 1.7B earned media impressions. - so far. 2. Customer Engagement and Relationship Building. Kara is an example of how deeply our audience and contributors are connected to our brands. Bringing them to life, side by side, in a fun, safe vibrant space was the vision. High-profile speakers like Shaun White and performances by popular bands such as Fleet Foxes and Thundercat created a dynamic and engaging atmosphere that fostered a strong emotional connection with attendees. This is a long way of saying, “we made it cool.” 3. Serve the Community and Get the Word Out We understand the interests and preferences of our audiences and target market. Our editors have been serving these passionate participants for decades. We built this for THEM. By curating a diverse lineup of outdoor and active lifestyle activities and experiences we knew the community would be thrilled. We utilized various communication channels, including email, social media, paid digital, PR, radio, street teams, community outreach, mixer events and partnerships with the likes of Denver Art Museum, Visit Denver and the State of Colorado, to effectively promote the event and attract a diverse audience for year 1. A limited budget forced us to be creative, hustle and find ways to get the word out. These posts, like Kara’s, full of genuine connection and community, are a great illustration of how a well-executed experiential marketing strategy, rooted in building brand connection and trust can create a lasting impression. Thanks Kara!

The Outside Festival was magical in so many ways. I got to reconnect with so many friends, meet folks I've long admired across the #outdoorindustry such as the teams at REI, Osprey Packs, Inc. and VF Corporation but most of all, because I got to meet Shannon Davis in real life. Shannon wasn't on the mega stage with the likes of Conrad Anker, Jimmy Chin, Diana Nyad or The Fleet Foxes, but none the less, I was teary eyed when I finally got to thank him in person and give him a long-overdue hug. You see, Shannon was the editor at Backpacker Magazine who accepted my essay about being fat shamed while taking on 100 miles of The Long Trail. (Link for the story below). This decision to publish this piece (and include a photo of me clawing my way up Baker's Peak) was inclusion in action. It gave me a voice in a world that I loved so very much but struggled to feel like I belonged (even though I've taken on Kilimanjaro three times and all the training in between). It opened the door for me to do even more. And after these encounters with the likes of Shannon, the Outside media team his inspired me to do even more outdoors and write about it. So how can you break trail for someone? Or how can you thank someone for doing so for you? Congratulations to the Outside team for all you created and the connections you facilitated. I can't wait to see where the Outside For Business Summit and the Outside Festival will go from here.

Who doesn’t love a bit of glitter eh? Well, apart from Sir Keir Starmer’s dry cleaner of course. Here at MAD//Fest London we love sparkly things which is why our 2024 event is the perfect place for you to be able to shine in front of thousands of potential new brand clients. Our clients love the fact that MAD//Fest is completely different to other events in this space, with one person even comparing it to Ibiza! We bring the energy, the fun and social side of things and marry it up with incredible content over 3 days in Shoreditch on 2-4 July 2024. Here’s a run down of all the shiny new features we are offering for 2024 that you could get involved with. NEW SPACES: We’ve heard the feedback from this year's event and have acquired 40% more space to extend the footprint of the 2024 event into Dray Walk and Elys Yard. What does this mean for you? Frankly, more space = more branding opportunities and prospective clients for you to talk to. NEW PARTY OPPORTUNITIES: One thing we know about our attendees is that they LOVE a party and with the addition of spaces in Dray Walk and Elys Yard, this opens the door for you to host your own ‘after hours’ party to keep that MAD//Fest vibe pumping well into the evening on 2nd and 3rd July. NEW CONTENT STAGES AND SPEAKING OPPORTUNITIES: We mentioned last week that we’re introducing 4 new stages of content running alongside our Hexagon, ATTENTION, Creative, DigiAds and Brand Innovation stages; and due to popular demand, we're expanding our Female Leaders' Club area - details of which can be found below: BIGGER Female Leaders’ Club Stage - One of the highlights of MAD//Fest 2023, we’re expanding the concept of the Female Leaders’ Bar as a place to be inspired, hear from the women who are leading iconic businesses, and network in a fun environment. The Female Leaders’ Club stage is the perfect platform to showcase your amazing female leaders + position your business as an attractive place to work that’s committed to eliminating inequality, glass ceilings + damaging work practices. If this sounds like something you want to be part of, I'd love to explore how you could really dazzle + engage clients at MAD//Fest London next summer - shall we have a chat?

Dear Leafworks and babelforce , All the kudos in the world to you! You created something monumental. A massive thank you for being part of this event, this lifestyle and this community. Asked about my personal highlights from CX Fest - The CX Festival in Germany I could not narrow it down. Everything was so great: weather, location, speakers, Workshops, customers, partners, the vibe, the staff or the party. All of it was a highlight. A couple of things really stood out: First the dedication of the CX community. For example the person mainly organising this actually being on parental leave the last three months but working nonstop because this was his baby. ...or the single mother that drove nine hours by mini bus to be there without having any connection to Zendesk or any of the partners. ...or the people that answered the question of not missing their free time on the weekend by saying that they are glad that they could get their regular job done during the week and spend their weekend with the topic they loved. Secondly, the bravery. It takes a lot of guts to completely disrupt the way things are done. Business conferences are done indoors, with a formal setting and maybe some drinks, but to create an outdoor festival, and yes, it was a true festival, is a first. And it worked amazingly well. Yes, the weather made everything easier but you need to believe that things will happen. And then sometimes they do. Everything starts with the belief and the audacity to do it. Thirdly...it is clear that the Zendesk customers are extremely strongly connected. They talk about their challenges and share solutions and...I cannot stress this enough...are our strongest advertisers in the world. They have founded a real community and all of this is being made possible by the fantastic DACH partner network. Klaus monday.com Ultimate Leafworks Knots babelforce You bring the people together and you make them bond. Thank YOU for allowing me to be part of this. I heard a lot from customers how much they are fans of Zendesk. That felt amazing. But they also pointed out where we need to improve. Let's take those recommendations seriously as having a community like this is very rare and we really should learn and utilize these experiences. Literally everyone I talked to wants to be back next year and bring more people. So even if today feels like CX Fest - The CX Festival in Germany ended, I am sure this is only the beginning. One last thing. The party on Saturday was one of a kind. I danced for five hours at least. What a way to end a weekend full of content and ideas to take with you. The soap party in the bathroom was unforgettable. So yeah...maybe if you were looking for a highlight at an ordinary event this has to be it ( although this would not happen anywhere else) Thank you!Really.Thank YOU! #zendesk #cx #cxfest

🌈✨ Embrace the Colors of Connectivity this Holi! 🎨🎉 As we celebrate the festival of colors, let's delve into the deeper significance of Holi beyond just the vibrant hues. Holi, the festival that marks the onset of spring, symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, the arrival of positivity, and the renewal of bonds. In the world of networking, Holi holds immense importance. Just as we blend various colors to create beautiful patterns, networking enables us to weave together diverse talents, skills, and perspectives to create something extraordinary. It's a time to reach out, connect, and strengthen relationships, both personally and professionally. Holi teaches us the value of inclusivity and diversity. Just as every color has its own significance, every individual brings unique strengths and experiences to the table. By embracing this diversity, we can foster innovation, creativity, and collaboration within our networks and organizations. Moreover, Holi is a reminder to let go of past grievances and start afresh.
