Congratulations to biotech start-up and Science Creates company FOLIUM Science on receiving two grants from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to Harnessing CRISPR-Cas to reduce ammonia emissions in poultry production! FOLIUM Science's project, for which they've been awarded over £350,000, joins 24 other projects which have received a share of £12.2 million to support research and development to boost productivity, enhance sustainable practices and support economic growth in the agricultural and horticultural sectors. The FOLIUM Science team has developed a ground-breaking CRISPR-Cas based biotechnology called Guided Biotics® to deliver solutions for increased productivity at all points in the food and agriculture value chain, and this funding will advance their efforts.
