🎈Tis the season for intention setting. Every year I like to choose a word of the year. Last year, my word was FUN 💃. My intention was to be more in the moment and to just be (I tend to be one of those over-thinker types).
What I especially loved about last year’s word setting is that I had a buddy (a peer) to remind me of my word when I forgot about it, to celebrate when she saw I was embodying my word and holding space for me whenever I felt like I was falling short.
This year, this buddy (Maria Baladi) and I came up with a workshop/framework to help ourselves and others choose our word for this year.
Our framework relies on checking in your past, present and future:
⬅ How did your year go?
⬇ How are you feeling today, at this very moment?
➡ What are feelings and scenes you’d like to experience in the next year?
To quote Maria: "Your word of the year is like the goggles you choose to wear to tackle the year ahead in order to achieve whatever it is you want to achieve."
We held a beautiful gathering while we were in our hometown Beirut over the break where we took a group of fabulous women through our workshop and it was a moment of great connection and intention setting. We had words like COMMIT, TRUST, CELEBRATION, CURIOSITY, FULLY PRESENT, CHOICE, TRUTH and more
This year my word of the year is COURAGE 🏃♀️. At the end of 2023, I felt like I was operating from a place of fear and that I was firmly rooted in my comfort zone whether it be in my professional or personal life. So this year it’s about acknowledging the fear and doing the damn thing anyway!
I would love to hear from you (and I know Maria would too)! Do you have a word for 2024?
