It is not uncommon to fall into the sales and marketing mindset trap that "we have to market equally to everyone who is a target" rather than using deep account information, and analytics, to weigh our investments towards revenue success.

Without sites, a clinical trial cannot get off the ground. Fewer sites means fewer studies. Which results in fewer therapeutics to address illness and disease. Reducing the burden on sites benefits us all. It is exciting to see IQVIA and Medidata Solutions collaborate on this initiative. #medidata #iqvia

It wasn't until they posted the World Central Kitchen list that I realized I had met Australian Zomi Frankcom while she was supporting the 2019 Hurricane Dorian response (Bahamas). Disaster response leader All Hands and Hearts would share a few volunteers each day to help make the WCK meals. In return we were given hot food for our teams. Humanitarians are not military targets or the enemy....but I guess they are if you want to close off aid and starve a couple of million people. I tend to keep personal commentary off this platform but having worked in the WCK kitchens (never under these circumstances) the intentional attack on World Central Kitchen staff in Gaza overnight timed right after the first maritime delivery of aid - 100 tons to feed the starving. For those who glanced over the news story - World Central Kitchen built a jetty and delivered the aid by water - opening an aid "door" for the rapid acceleration of food into the area. The first of its kind. I don't have exact stats but I believe it would have enabled WCK to double the food aid being delivered. The fastest way to halt that operation (which is now paused) was to attack the source and kill the staff. Thereby cutting off food supplies. A humanitarian organization, which coordinates all their movements with Israel ahead of time, marks their convoys to be highly visible and is protected under international law. A new level of low given drone attacks comes with sophisticated camera surveillance to ensure it is targeting the right "enemy". This was no accident. Unlike where my mindset was yesterday, I now believe eradication through starvation is the goal and the application of that wartime tactic from those who suffered so much the same in the past is not lost. The size of the prison is different but the crime is the same. #worldcentralkitchen

Thanks for sharing Laura. I am a biased Simon Sinek fan but what he says rings so true. The best leaders I have ever had the pleasure to work with (notice I did not say work "for") created guardrails (not rules) and had a culture where failure - and imperfection - was okay.
