With global leading corporations setting ambitious Net Zero targets, this is soon going to make its way down the supply chain. The OEMs must now also be able to provide low / no carbon input components for the corporations to achieve their target and maintain their relationship as well. As this trend only seems to be growing, the approach taken by OEMs matters the most. Targeted action needs to be taken across all categories of emissions to drive change ✅ Scope 1 emissions can be reduced by a focus on using alternative fuel (e.g. bio-based boilers, EVs) and a continuous focus on energy efficiency ✅ Scope 2 emissions can be reduced by transitioning to renewable energy sources. A good local understanding of the regulations and economics is necessary to make this happen. But this is tried and tested and all about executing effectively ✅ Reduction of Scope 3 emissions is a longer journey. There are several methods one can deploy like ensuring circularity in materials used, finding alternative materials and local sourcing, but at a minimum, it's essential for OEMs to start measuring Scope 3 emissions As OEMs pursue all the above actions, having a strong data backbone and implementable insights is key. Here is where Karbonwise can help you align your goals and chart a way forward. To know more about different strategies OEMs can use to achieve Net Zero emissions, you can read the article below or simply schedule a call with us. https://karbonwise.com/ #netzero #scope3 #scope2 #scope1 #emissionreduction

Achieving Net Zero emissions is crucial for limiting global warming to 1.5C and avoiding the worst impacts of climate change. It involves reducing man-made carbon dioxide emissions to balance the amount emitted with the amount removed from the atmosphere, thereby preventing a net increase in emissions. This goal supports the 2015 Paris Agreement's objective to significantly decrease global temperature rise.
