All partners who used to help with virtualization for the Cloud are gone!!! 😱 . Broadcom canceled all existing VMware partner agreements on February 4, 2024. This move effectively terminated the previous VMware partner program and sales incentives. Partners interested in continuing to sell VMware products under Broadcom need to apply for the invitation-only Broadcom Advantage Partner Program. Broadcom hasn't shared details about the new program's requirements, leaving many partners unsure about their future status. Also, it plans to convert most perpetual licenses to subscriptions by the end of its fiscal year in November 2024. . This news has created a huge gap instantly in the Cloud market. Now, the renewal price with VMware has doubled, and users above version 8 need to buy the new version. All partner agreements are canceled. All of this has brought serious trouble in the market and to the existing VMware partners but has also given rise to new opportunities: open-source-backed Virtualization.✌ .
