I had the enriching experience of attending the Harvard leadership class this May. The number one takeaway for me was the incredible people from various industries and government organizations I met representing 20+ nationalities. I learned so much about management, innovation, and leadership from each of them. The faculty came from a consortium of Harvard schools, including Harvard Law School, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard Business School. Here are 3 top learnings may be useful to all of you as wel in your day to day work- 1. Adaptive Leadership: Emphasized flexibility and adaptability to changing environments, fostering continuous learning and innovation within teams. It highlighted that it's always possible to expand the pie, making 1+1=3 through collaboration. 2. Stakeholder Management and Strategic Networking: Focused on engaging stakeholders and building networks to align interests and gain support for organizational goals. 3. Leading with Emotional Intelligence: Highlighted the importance of self-awareness, empathy, and social skills to build trust, resolve conflicts, and inspire teams. #harvard The Program on Negotiation #leadership Karen Urban Rachel Berkowitz Lena Miglbauer Bryan Lattke Olga Brown Agnes M. da Costa , Alexander Garcia Aliya Sassi, Ph.D. , Anne Marinho , Berardino Di Vecchia Neto, Robert Beyer, Bojana Vareskic, Bryan Lattke, Catherine Ngwong, Charlotte Anthonissen, Christian J Mesmer, Christine Lewis, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CLRL , Cliff Shaw, Denise Cunha, Fabiano Barboza, Fehem Hashmi, Francisca Gabler, Frank Westerveld, Gemma Begley, Gian Luca Greco, Jacqueline Leahy, Jason Cooper Jill (Smith) Guinosso, Justin Boelio, Karen Urban, Karen Dzienkowski, Lena Miglbauer, Gian Luca Greco .

LEADERSHIP INSIGHTS WITH DR JAMIE PAJOEL. Mental Modeling for Superior Performance: Mental modeling for superior performance refers to the practice of constructing and utilizing mental representations or models of various situations, problems, or tasks to enhance performance and achieve better results. It involves developing a clear understanding of the underlying factors, relationships, and dynamics that influence a particular domain or context. Here are some key aspects and benefits of mental modeling for superior performance: Improved comprehension: Mental modeling helps individuals grasp complex concepts, systems, or processes by breaking them down into manageable components. It facilitates a deeper understanding of how different elements interact and influence outcomes, leading to better comprehension of the subject matter. Enhanced problem-solving: Mental models provide a framework for analyzing and solving problems more effectively. By visualizing the problem and its potential solutions, individuals can simulate different scenarios, evaluate potential outcomes, and identify the most optimal course of action. Effective decision-making: Mental models enable individuals to consider multiple perspectives and variables when making decisions. They help to identify potential risks, evaluate alternatives, and anticipate consequences, leading to more informed and strategic decision-making. Thank you Miami University Office of Transformational and Inclusive Excellence for spotlighting my research article entitled "Leading with DEI on mind: Examining the interactive effects of supervisor perceptions of psychological diversity climate and supervisor characteristics on leadership style." It was published in the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies last year. In this article, my amazing coauthors, Dr. Paul Prosper, SPHR and @Dr. Catherine Scott, and I explain and demonstrate key leadership implications of organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Our findings show that as supervisors' perceptions of psychological diversity climate increase, they are rated higher on ethical leadership and lower on abusive supervision by their employees. This means if organizations want to (1) develop supervisors into ethical leaders and (2) prevent supervisors from abusing their employees, organizations should emphasize cultivating a psychologically diverse climate. Healthy relationships are heavily influenced by emotional intelligence and relational integrity. Emotional intelligence is your ability to identify what you're feeling, and to take responsibility for it. To feel it, name it, and do something productive with it. Doing something productive always translates into a relational impact. It's either going to lead to strengthening or weakening relationships. Emotional Intelligence is measured in 5 realms and 15 skills. The good news is, those skills can be cultivated, strengthened, and developed. By combining a growing level of emotional intelligence with relational integrity your leadership will be experienced as authentic and worthy of trust. Leading at the Next Level is taking your leadership to a deeper level of emotional intelligence and relational integrity. As human beings, unless we resist it, we never stop growing. Those who are willing continue to grow, and as a result, will strengthen their ability to take meaningful action on behalf of a mission greater than themselves. Becoming a more emotionally intelligent and relationally integrated leader will be vital in our current climate. — We are accepting nominations and applications for our 7th Next Level Leadership cohort beginning in the Spring of 2024.
