An emergency scam is when someone pretends to be a family member or loved one in trouble who needs money. Shannon from our Timmins branch shared some wise words about spotting and preventing emergency scams: “If you receive a panicked call from a loved one saying they are in desperate need of cash for bail money, ask them something specific only they would know the answer to. If you aren't close enough to have a question like that in mind, ask them where they are being held and call that police station directly to confirm they are being held there.” Keep yourself safe by asking the right questions! #FraudPreventionMonth
