Are you seeing lots of questions lately about job titles? Things employers should consider when creating job titles: 👍 Search Optimization: Want title is most common when searching for your role, e.g., Diesel Mechanic is more frequently searched than Diesel Technician. This is especially important for jobs with funny titles. 👍 Competition in Posts: Do you benefit from being more commonly searched or being one of the few competing for less common search terms. 👍 Does the job titles reflect the function and scope of the role: Calling someone a "Director" in a SMB with no indirect reports, can lead to a lot of applicants that are not a fit (overqualified, outside salary range, etc.) Have a job title pet peeve - throw it in the comments.

As a new business owner in the Access equipment repair industry, I have been advertising for an additional mechanic to help meet the current demand. After 6 weeks of advertising on both LinkedIn and Seek, I have received 30 applicants out of 1000 views of the ads, but none of them seem to be the right fit. Out of the 30, 26 are from overseas, 1 has no experience in the industry or as a mechanic, and 3 have industry experience but are not the ideal candidates So, I am reaching out to the LinkedIn community to ask: what are good mechanics looking for when considering a new job? Are there different places I should be advertising or should I consider working with a recruitment agency? I appreciate any insights and advice from those in the industry.

Search job adverts for lift truck operator vacancies and you'll likely come across phrases such as, "forklift licence required" or "needs FLT licence". However, in the UK, the forklift 'licence' is a myth - there is actually no such thing. So, with this in mind, what is the best way for an employer to confirm an operator's skill level? 🤔 We explain all, here: https://okt.to/mHaIiL

🚨 Employee Spotlight 🚨 Today we would like to introduce Lasse Birk Pedersen, field service technician for our Equipment & Automation team in Brønderslev, Denmark. Lasse has been with us for nearly 20 years performing machine installations, upgrades and repairs whether mechanical, hydraulic or electrical. 👉Fondest work memory so far: "I have a lot of good memories, but it is extremely difficult to select one memory to be the best." 👉Favorite things to do outside of work: "I enjoy spending time together with friends and family. I like to be active, riding my bike or taking walks together with my wife Kirsten, preferably in scenic nature where I love to take photographs. I also enjoy hunting and fishing, and I also like to go snorkeling in places where the water is warm. I keep my house and my old Ford Mustang in good condition. I attend as many car exhibitions and rallies as possible when I am home which is not that often with an average of 260 days in the field each year for 18 years!" 👉Favorite things to watch/listen/read: "American car history both as films, books and manuals. I like rock music from the sixties and nineties and rockabilly music from the fifties. I watch the news and action movies. I don’t read traditional books but magazines about cars and about hunting." 👉If you could have one superpower, what would it be: "I am a realist, so I prefer to rephrase the question to: If you had one wish, what would it be: My wish would be to find the cure for all sorts of cancer."
