I have been in Recruiting for 7 years. I started my career as a Staffing Agency Recruiter. I quickly realized that helping people and making connections was something that I loved to do. Nothing feels better than helping someone land a job that impacts their livelihood, their families, and how they view themselves in the morning. The market is a bit scary right now as I am enduring my 3rd layoff within my career. I get it, I understand the mental and financial toll this can take on a person and their families. With that being said, we need to not forget this is not the end of the road. Take this moment as an opportunity, explore new career paths, brush up on your skills and connect with other professionals in your industry and stay networking. Most importantly stay positive! It is easy to get discouraged in the face of layoffs and uncertainty, but remember you have the power to control your own destiny. Take this setback as a chance to grow, learn, and ultimately come out even stronger on the other side. We are all in this together! #layoffs #recruiting #staffing #positivemindset #careers #jobsearch

Recruiters, ever been through corporate layoffs? I have. A couple of times actually. It can be absolutely one of the most devastating experiences. As the front line to the hiring process, most recruiters are the champions of the company. We are constantly talking to future employees about values and culture and company goals. We are in sales. We are closing deals every day that help build the company. And we don’t just go through the motions, a good recruiter actually believes all of that they are selling. So, when layoffs happen and companies go through down times, often the front lines are the ones who get cut first. If the company is no longer hiring, a short-sighted leader might decide that recruiters are no longer necessary. During both of my stents and unemployment, I had to do a lot of soul-searching and digging. I did a lot of reading and self improvement just to keep my mindset right. Looking for a job in today’s market is stressful. So many companies rely on automation to review resumes and create candidate. Simply applying and waiting for those technologies to screen you in isn’t enough. Both times I was unemployed, it was actually warm networking that allowed me to land another position. Finding a new home can be a long hard journey. It should encourage you to look beyond traditional roles. It should encourage you to actively network and market yourself. It should encourage you to maybe step outside your comfort zone and look into something new. That’s what I did. I was done being at the mercy of a company. I wanted to be in complete control of my destiny, and I wanted to own my own business so that I would never be put into a layoff situation again. I wanted ownership. I wanted to utilize my sales skills. I wanted to push the envelope and make money like never before. If you are there, maybe we should talk. DM me. #recruiters #recruiterlife #layoffs

I'm deeply disheartened to witness the ongoing trend of recruiters being laid off. These dedicated professionals are the unsung heroes of the job market, connecting countless job seekers with opportunities while helping organizations find the perfect fit for their teams. Recruiters not only save job seekers precious time and effort in their job searches but also provide critical guidance and support throughout the application and interview process. They bring a wealth of industry knowledge, market insights, and a keen eye for identifying top talent. Moreover, recruiters contribute to the overall health and growth of businesses. They play a pivotal role in building diverse, skilled, and motivated workforces that drive innovation and success. Their efforts are essential in ensuring that organizations can continue to thrive in an ever-evolving and competitive job landscape. As we witness more recruiters facing layoffs, let's recognize the profound impact they have on individuals and companies alike. Let's hope for a swift recovery and brighter days ahead, where these talented professionals can once again flourish and contribute to building a stronger, more inclusive job market. If you were impacted by the recent recruiter layoffs and I can be a resource in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out. #recruitersmatter #recruiting #layoffs #techlayoffs #networking #support #solidarity

exactly this, a layoff isn't about an the individual, but the company. Don't discriminate be open to all applicants, laidoff, job gap, job hopper, each may have their reasons and the reasons are their business and are none of your business. (harsh, yes but does their gap, hopping or being laid off impact your business negatively? they may end up being the best thing for your company. Stick to what your business is, whatever that may be, and look to hire talent based on skills, experience and best fit for the culture and team.

Layoffs do not discriminate based upon your loyalty, work ethic, experience, knowledge, title, position level, job function, personality, dedication, leadership ability, or motivation. Anyone can excel in these areas and be laid off. Anyone can fall short in these areas and be laid off. It is key to not assume the latter in hiring. They can impact virtually anyone, at any given time. Unstable markets and organizations lead to unstable resumes. Be the person who gives someone a chance to get their foot back in the door this week. They could very well be your next best employee! #linked #hiring #layoffs #career #employment

I frequently engage with candidates as part of my job. Some of the candidates I reach out to are content with their current jobs and their company's culture, while others are dissatisfied but hesitant to take action. Given the industry's volatility and frequent layoffs, many are reluctant to seek new opportunities. However, when layoffs occur at their current companies, these candidates find themselves in a larger pool of job seekers, all vying for positions at established firms. Yet, it's crucial to remember that job security isn't guaranteed even at these large companies (as you can tell)... have you seen the list of companies!! Instead of solely focusing on large corporations as your saviors, consider smaller companies. Many of these firms have never experienced mass layoffs and offer stable employment opportunities. Candidates, it's time to adjust your mindset. Despite the challenges, there are still plenty of opportunities available in the market. Don't blindly chase after what seems like a golden opportunity; sometimes, it's just another shiny distraction. #recruitment #layoffs #wecanhelp #recruitingnow

Whether you're encountering obstacles or making progress, your insights could be invaluable to others facing similar circumstances. Today on LinkedIn, I saw a post where an employee was helping and vouching for a colleague who had been laid off from the same company. They recommended him to their network to find a new job and it caught a lot of attention. It reminded me how important it is to support each other during tough times like layoffs. Even if you can’t directly refer someone, showing support can make a big difference. As we all know, layoffs aren’t always about individual performance but often due to company changes. Going through layoffs and starting over with job interviews is really hard. It can feel overwhelming but remember every application you send out is a step closer to finding the right opportunity. Let’s all help each other out by promoting and encouraging our coworkers😇 Remember: Losing a job isn’t the end, it’s a chance for a fresh start and new possibilities. #careers #layoffs #hr #recruiting #ukg
