I'd have to take a deeper dive into this rsearch and how it was conducted, but if it *is* valid, it claims that "25% of Gen Zers brought their parents to interviews." That's JOB interviews. Wow! Interesting read in The Guardian around #GenZ and job interviews. I'm aligned with the idea that irrelevant and deliberately awkward questions ("Which kitchen appliance would you be and why?") shouldn't have a place in a serious professional discussion. However, basic "old fashioned" things like preparation, timeliness, manners and, yes, small talk - ie. a minimum curiosity about the person you are actually meeting - are still vital elements to success. If those are lacking, maybe the reason isn't age but a plain and simple lack of interest. Does that make me sound like a grumpy millennial? What do you think? That would be a hard no. If you need a parent to hold your hand you are making a clear statement that you are not at a maturity level we would need. This is a bad idea from all fronts.
