🎉I have come to the close of my internship at Trimac Transportation! Here are three takeaways I learned along the way.
1. Embracing Mistakes as Stepping Stone: Eventually mistakes happen the best of us, and too often we view these as setbacks instead of opportunities for growth. Throughout my internship, I encountered challenges that pushed me beyond my comfort zone. These situations, often accompanied by mistakes, turned out to be stepping stones toward self-improvement.
2. Adapt, adapt, adapt: Whether it was collaborating with new teams, or immersing myself in complex data modelling, being open to change and remaining flexible were essential in navigating diverse challenges.
3. Learning as a Lifelong Pursuit: Plunging myself into unfamiliar territories was a recurring theme during my internship. This led me to learn new processes, software, and practices in order to drive innovation. Ultimately, the pursuit of knowledge doesn’t end with a degree: there are opportunities to learn everywhere.
I want to express my gratitude to the Trimac Team, who provided me with an incredible learning experience throughout my internship journey. Working with such a talented and supportive group of professionals has been truly inspiring. (And also for the amazing lego set!)
As I transition from this internship into the next phase of my career, I also want to extend my appreciation to all my colleagues, Aaron Kwong, Sehar Alwani, Tram Le, and Robbert McCaig who made each day at Trimac enjoyable and rewarding.
