I want dental care to be treated like the essential health care it is. That’s why we've created the Canadian Dental Care Plan. So that 9 million people — who don't have insurance — can get on a plan, and go to the dentist.
Alberta already has a plan. We don’t need your duplication of our plan. Stay in your own lane. Health care is provincial jurisdiction.
Question - who has jurisdiction over healthcare?
Canada has a partial single payer health care system. It does not cover drugs, vision, chiro, physio and so forth. The Canada Health Care system should cover all medical costs. This would eliminate private health care plans and thus save the profit margin on private insurance. We would save billions in drugs with national buying clout.
While a nice thought; I would much prefer that the government fix the issues with the current health care system instead of spending more time and money on new programs. And you may want to consider trying to balance the budget at least once in your lifetime instead of choking future generations with the cost of interest from years of deficits under your administration.
Well it will work like your health care system just as there are not enough family doctors, there will be not enough dentists. I don’t like to criticize without suggesting a plan. Why not tax all capital gains 100 % then we will have no doctors or dentists.
Great. What about mental health? Canadians are struggling. What about primary care? 1/4 of Canadians don’t have a doctor.
Isn’t health care provincial jurisdiction?
Dental, vision, audiology and mental health care are as essential as cardiology, dermatology, neurology and pediatrics. Why certain countries chop up health insurance is beyond my comprehension. We all have one whole body. The entire thing needs maintenance and care.
Tax payers don’t like your ideas.
