Celebrating Diaspora Day Marriott International! Diaspora Day celebrates the history, resilience, and excellence of Black communities worldwide, honoring the profound impact of the African Diaspora around the world. And today we celebrate Juneteenth, symbolizing freedom, sacrifice, and the end of slavery in the U.S. Last week, associates, customers, hotel representatives, and community organizations celebrated Marriott International’s Black Associate Resource Group's (ARG) Diaspora Day at our headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland alongside properties around the world. This celebration embraced Black culture, championed diversity, and amplified voices that have shaped and continue to inspire our history. The Black ARG positioned this unique hybrid event between World Africa Day (May 25) and the U.S. Juneteenth holiday (June 19), to showcase the shared heritage of Marriott's Black associates despite differences in location, language, and culture. I am honored to serve as the Executive Sponsor for our Black Associate Resource Group at Marriott. Events like this exhibit the great work the ARG is doing to highlight the many facets of our global cultures and serve as a reminder that despite our different backgrounds and origins, we have more in common than we think. Thank you to our co-chairs Porsche Pettiford and Amani Brown who worked alongside our ARG leadership team to execute such an amazing event! #MIDiasporaDay24 #Juneteenth #marriottinternational

It was truly a pleasure to bring this special activation to Marriott Headquarters and our associates around the globe. A sincere thanks to everyone from the Black ARG volunteers and allies for their support.
