Day 4 of Quantum 30 Cohort 2.0 Today, I continued Zlatko Minev's series on quantum noise. This video(link: https://lnkd.in/dHxW_K7v) was a dive into projection noise. Projection noise is unavoidable due to the inherent nature of quantum mechanics. Measurements in quantum mechanics are probabilistic and not deterministic, which can lead to unexpected output, producing an error in our end results. In the lecture, Minev taught measurements of a quantum state and related statistics, like the expectation value, variance, and standard deviation of a particular observable. He also went through some simple math From a formula relating the standard deviation, which is also the error bar and number of shots, we can conclude that increasing the number of shots decreases this projection error since they're inversely proportional. This however increases the cost of operation. Quantum Computing India #quantum30 #quantum #quantumcomputing #noise #consistency
