What a shame, in 2024, to still have to work with Floor Prices, to protect from people that never understood #Vickrey Auctions. An impression has NO intrinsic value. It's priced only by buyers. For business owners making GAFAM's fortunes, who just want to maximize margins, it's the second best expected value. For media buyers making Open Web decline, who just want to minimize costs, it's whatever low you can buy, thus triggering back these terrible too complex floor prices algorithms. https://lnkd.in/eTN4rMma

Outspend the competitors to get customers. The majority of advertising marketplaces are auction-based. Auctions for higher bidders attract attention, eyeballs, and clicks. Spending less and getting more is not possible. You might get lucky every now and then, however! #clientacquisition #googleads #linkedinads #b2bleadgeneration

Junk Purge Part 1: When you want to sell unwanted things, you probably do what I do: post them to Facebook Marketplace. But there's a few problems with it: 1. 😓📲 You'll Get 200+ "Is this still available?" Messages 2. 😀😡 You'll Get An Offer, Then No Follow-Up 3. ⏳😟 It Takes Forever To Sell Anything (If You Do At All) We hated this whole process. It's annoying, time-consuming, and the worst of both worlds (I'm stuck with my junk, and I haven't gotten paid). There had to be a way to change all this. So, we launched Junk Purge version 0.1. To make sure Junk Purge was a valid business idea, we needed to make sure people would buy a bunch of items all at once. 👨🔬 Our First Test: eBay First, we wanted to see if anyone would even put an offer down to buy an assortment of things in an auction. The way we saw it, it was like testing out a mini-storage unit auction online. ❌ Hard Lesson #1: eBay is not the platform for something like this. Even after we promoted our auction, after 72 hours, only 12 individuals had even viewed it. So, we killed that avenue. Total spending for Validation #1: $0.00 ($4.99 to promote on eBay, but those fees come after the item sells). 👩🔬 Test #2: Back to Facebook Marketplace We didn't like this idea, but it was the next best option. So, we took a bunch of photos and posted everything for sale at once. The results? 20+ individuals messaged us within five days. Two people made offers to buy everything, and one actually followed through! Final Results: 💰 We sold the collection of items for $95. If we had sold all the items individually at their originally listed prices, we would have made $100 (5% revenue loss). ⌛ We reduced the amount of time it took us to sell these items by a staggering 55 days minimum (we obviously pulled the items at 60 days, so they could have lasted even longer). Total Validation Cost: +$95.00 (No Cost To Post To Facebook Marketplace) 💭 Two Trends That Make This Idea Work Now (We Think): 1️⃣ Minimalism - is a trend that has extended into the realms of both lifestyles and work. It's the "go-to" philosophy today that advocates for simplicity and intentionality in all aspects of life. It is because of this that people are more aware of their unwanted things and have a greater urge to get rid of those things, not hoard them. 2️⃣ 🤑 Flipping Stuff Side Hustles - Flipping items on the internet has emerged as a dynamic and highly lucrative facet of the digital economy. If they are willing to go to garage sales and storage auctions, this customer segment would probably use a site (or app) that offered the unique opportunity to capitalize on mass product sales. 🚀 Next Steps: Part 2 is coming tomorrow... #businessdevelopment #startup #newbusinessdevelopment

OFF-MARKET SALES With advertising costs skyrocketing and real estate agents stockpiling huge buyer data in the hottest property market ever seen, it's surely a temptation to take advantage of all this and sell your property "of-market" without needing to run a full advertising campaign. But what are the potential pitfalls of this method of sale? What do you need to know before committing to an off-market or "silent" sale? Here's a rundown of the pros and cons... Read more here 👇

I'd love for my website to be my only source of income, so I can focus solely on building my media company. I'd love to make enough money to get an office space I can turn into a production studio. I'd love to make enough money to get more equipment to add production value to the projects I work on. I'd love to make enough to hire folks to help work on some of these projects I have planned and any future projects I may work on. I'd love to be able to hire one of the many graphic designers that solicit me for business because I would love to help them out and to have someone on my team to help create graphics and things of that nature. I know I have a ways to go before I get there and I know I'm not going to do it alone, so even if you can't buy something from my website, sharing helps. Just take a look at what I have on there and if something looks interesting, pass it along. That's all I'm really asking. Right now, all I want is more people looking at my website because it increases the chances I might make a sale. If I had the money, I'd pay for all the ad campaigns and things like that, but I don't have the capital to invest in a full on marketing plan. I wish I did, but until I find another job, or my website picks up, I need just a little help getting eyes on my website. https://lnkd.in/dpfcRUEa
