Excited. Thrilled. Over the moon. These are a few ways I describe how sharing my first mini-documentary as an editor and director feels. "dK in the UK' features Tiana Denine, the founder of digitalKENTE, LLC, a design studio and online athleisure retailer. In this doc, she introduces her Karnival Kolors print collection to the UK market in August 2023. This brief documentary summarizes the experience of exposing her print designs and unique swimwear products to a new market and the benefit of immersing oneself in the culture to learn how to serve the culture best." A simple analysis on the Kroger takeover of Albertsons Companies: A Kroger/Abertsons Merger, At a Glance -Kroger: 2,700+ stores -Estimated sales this year: $149 billion -What Kroger does well: tech, store layout, operating discipline, private label -Albertsons: 2,300+ stores -Estimated sales this year: $76 billion -What Albertsons does well: private label Why This Deal Needs to Happen -Walmart continues to get stronger in grocery + pharmacy. -Amazon continues to get stronger in grocery + pharmacy. -Target continues to get stronger in grocery + pharmacy. -Costs are going up for both companies, suppliers need pressure. -Albertsons just hasn’t been wowing investors since 2020 IPO. Why This Isn't a Perfect Deal -A ton of stores may have to be sold to satisfy regulators. -Kroger will need to invest big-time in Albertsons. -Unhappy grocery unions. -Lots of long-tenured execs at both companies = culture clashes.
