Almost a year ago, I had the opportunity to work on the "More Love Less War" project, focusing on issues that remain prevalent in Plateau State. This documentary delves into the research background, my methodological approach, and the creative process behind the project. African fabrics are renowned for their bold colors, vibrant patterns, and unique styles. These elements shine brightest in prestigious garments that celebrate cultural heritage. In Jos and throughout Nigeria, traditional clothing plays a significant role in cultural festivals. I chose to design garments from these fabrics because they symbolize prestige and royalty. These garments are perfect for festivals, weddings, and community gatherings, and can also be adapted into simpler styles for everyday wear. Much like Afrobeats and Jollof rice unites Nigerians, the distinctive fashion sense in Jos, emblematic among urban youth and various ethnic groups, serves as a common cultural thread. My designs integrate the colors and symbols of these tribes, using basic anthropometric principles to illustrate how different groups can work harmoniously to build a stable community. Special thanks to Imani Alethia for the insightful interview and to the team Blacc Urban for bringing everyone together for the project. #Documentary #AfricanFabrics #CulturalHeritage #NigerianFashion #TraditionalClothing #JosNigeria #CulturalFestivals #FashionDesign #CommunityBuilding #CreativeProcess #AfricanCulture #EthnicFashion #SustainableFashion #CreativeDirecting https://lnkd.in/eTVYwwH2

“Financial resources – capital and liquidity – do not solve these kinds of problems … it points to the importance of non-financial regulation and supervision, covering topics that could impact the credibility and profitability of the firm – things like governance and controls, risk culture, and operational resilience. The best regulatory framework in the world would be useless without effective supervision.” #governance #culture #riskmanagement

Former Editor In Charge of DC @ Reuters News Pictures (20 years) & award winning photojournalist. Now : consultant on visuals, news / press mgmt, political cvg / comms & event production. Top photographer & photo editor.
It is pretty scary to see so many educated and smart people on Linked In asking “what’s wrong with photo manipulation?” in relation to this news. What is wrong is that this photo was released as a handout image to all the biggest wire services, agencies and news organizations in the world, who put the credibility of all their news images in question by ever sending out a manipulated picture. All of the wire services have policies that manipulating the content of any image is a fireable offense for ANY of their staff or stringers. The fact that all of the wire services “killed” (which basically means retracted, and warned people away from publishing, an image in wirespeak) the photo is a testament to the fact that image manipulation is absolutely forbidden at all the wires and not accepted in ANY form. The credibility and trustworthiness of ALL wire service news images worldwide rests on this unambiguous and uniform ethical stance.

We wish to express our outrage at the hooligans representing 'Just Stop Oil' who have damaged one for the most iconic masterpieces in our National Gallery. Their actions are criminal and should be treated as such with the utmost rigour. Where was the Gallery security? In the time frame of the video not one security guard or member of the public intervened. This is the direct result of the present government's cutback on funding for the arts. Mr Sunak, ex Chancellor of the Exchequer, please take note. Moreover, this is the second such incident at the National Gallery and clearly appropriate measures still need to be put in place. As to punishment, aimed at preventing such barbaric behaviour, it is quite clear that the Courts need to be much more severe or, indeed, for acts of this kind, they should bring back the birch! This may seem extreme but might also cause pause for reflection before indulging on similar acts which now risk attracting copycats both here and abroad. #art #artgallery #museum #juststopoil #security https://lnkd.in/daiGJeqW
